The Rocktown Turkey Trot is the perfect mix of fun and fitness on Thanksgiving morning. The four mile course is designed with all skill levels in mind - and it's ideal for first-timers and veteran runners alike. The Turkey Trot is a professionally timed event (you'll receive a race bib and chip timing device at packet pickup), but don't let that deter you from coming dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving-themed running gear! The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash is a can't-miss tradition for kids on Thanksgiving. They'll be energized by the roar of the crowd and feel the freedom of wind in their face as they run through the closed-down streets of Court Square in Harrisonburg. Kids Dash participants will finish prior to the start of the Rocktown Turkey Trot.

The Turkey Trot 5K is a family-favorite tradition that takes place on Thanksgiving morning before all of the festivities begin for the day. Be sure to bring your friends and family so that you can wobble before you gobble!  The 5K begins at the LYCC of Gardner-Webb University and the race route goes throughout the beautiful town of Boiling Springs. Running a race that matters this holiday season is what the Turkey Trot is all about; all proceeds from the race go to the YMCA's We Build People Scholarship Fund so that we can provide financial assistance to those in need so that they can have access to the YMCA. Course 5K loop on the UVM women's cross-country course. Great footing (not counting snow or ice) on cinder/paved path and grass - some single track. Locust's Second Annual-Turkey Trot 5-K! For years, many of us have made memories at the Albemarle Turkey Trot-now it's time start our own tradition right here at home! Come join us for the 2026 Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26th at 9:00 am. The race starts and finishes next to Albemarle High School and features a neighborhood course with flat stretches and gentle rolling hills, totaling 133 feet of elevation gain. Ample parking will be available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary. The race proudly supports two local beneficiaries: the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, both of which provide critical food resources to individuals and families in need. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank serves Central Virginia and is an affiliate of the national organization Feeding America. Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, located directly on the race route, is the largest distributor of food from the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in the Charlottesville area and provides free groceries to families and individuals up to two times per month, with nearly one-third of households

Join us at Smith Mountain Lake State Park for the region's only Turkey Trot - 1 mile and family friendly 5k on November 26th (Thanksgiving) at 9 am! Hosted by LAT Wellness Studio, this race is located on a scenic, asphalt route and welcomes walkers and runners to participate. A portion of proceeds is donated to the state park. A long-standing Thanksgiving tradition in Hamden, there is no better way to start your Thanksgiving Day than running or walking a 5K with family, friends and the community. Make it a 4-F day – Family, Food, Football & a Five K. (A bit of a stretch but you get the point).Whether this is your first 5K or you have done this race every year, we welcome you and encourage you to dress for the occasion. From turkey hats to tutus and even full turkey and pilgrim costumes, it’s sure to be fun for all ages and a great way to get in a little exercise before the eating begins.Our race begins nice and early (7:30 am) so it won’t interfere with any of the day’s other activities. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Hamden Community Services which supports Hamden’s Community Food and Resource Distribution Programs, Youth and Community Programs and Essential Emergency and Financial Assistance Programs.

The 2026 Turkey Trot will offer an in-person, chip-timed race on Thanksgiving Day. Traveling on Thanksgiving or want to do your own 5K? We continue to offer a virtual option as well! Only the in-person event will be chip-timed and medals will be awarded. Virtual participants will be able to submit their own time. The DASH benefits the Rescue Mission of Roanoke’s dining services and provides for the meals that the Rescue Mission serves on an annual basis. We typically serve about 200,000+ meals a year to those in need. These meals go to adults and children alike, providing needed nutrition so that each of our guests can focus on the ultimate success, rising out of poverty. We are honored to welcome some of the best runners in the area (and some from beyond) to our race.
