Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend and the lighting of Christmas Mountain in Salida with a 5 mile and 1 mile race!  The 5 mile course begins and ends by Riverside Park in downtown Salida. Race course is very scenic and mostly flat (around 160 feet of elevation gain) and takes place on city and county roads and gravel or concrete pedestrian paths. This event is designed for all runners, and we encourage all ages and abilities to come out!  Packet pickup, post race drinks and snacks, and awards will also take place in Riverside Park in downtown Salida.   Race begins at 10am, giving participants time to sleep in after Thanksgiving, and then relax with friends and family before heading back to downtown Salida for the lighting of Christmas Mountain.  Festivities in town associated with this event include the annual Christmas Mountain parade, beginning at 6pm, followed by fireworks.  This is one of Salida's biggest and most celebratory nights each year.   The goals of this event are to encou

This race is in memory of Margaret Walling, a  young Hackettstown resident who lost her battle with a malignant brain tumor in December of 2013 after a brave and vailant fight.  Smiles For Margaret gives money raised to families with children fighting cancer. Smiles for Margaret is continuing to raise funds in Margaret's memory in order to help other local families whose children have also been diagnosed with life cancers. Go Bucks and Go Blue during this 10th annual event in downtown Sandusky. There isn’t a better way to start the morning of the Ohio State/Michigan game day than “Dotting the i” or “Blocking the M.” And you can do both in this one-of-a-kind event. There is no other city with a unique street grid like Sandusky's to complete this kind of course. November 28, 2026, will be the 41st running of the Seattle Ghost Marathon.  It started in 1985 when the Seattle Marathon changed courses and moved from Saturday to Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The course is a very flat and fast certified Boston Marathon qualifier.  The marathon is comprised of two 13.1-mile loops run on streets and sidewalks along scenic Lake Washington in Seattle, WA. The race start/finish is at the Ferdinand St Boat Launch (47.557338, -122.262188) 5018 Lake Washington Blvd. S, Seattle, WA 98118.  It runs south with a clockwise loop of scenic Seward Park and back north to the start/finish area.  It continues north along Lake Washington through Leschi.  The north turnaround is just past the Madrona Drive intersection (47.613496, -122.281265) then you run south back to the start/finish.  There are aid stations every 3.1 miles on each loop. A Kennekuk Members Only Event - MEET THE BACKPACK TRAIL  TRAIL:One of the most difficult in this part of the Midwest. Plenty of sheer beauty, and you could very easily get wet & muddy. Everything a trail runner could want. There is even a long stair climb. You will see things on this trail you won't see on other trails in the area. You CAN NOT run this trail alone if it is your first time. We would have to send out the bloodhounds! DIRECTIONS: Going South on Route 1 to Westville, turn left on East Main Street at the stoplight. You will see Julee's Shooting Star Tavern on the right (northwest comer). Follow the road for 7 .2 miles to the Forest Glen entrance. Tum left into the park and follow the road to the Maple Grove Lodge. PARTY: NEW LOCATION !! The party is at the Maple Grove Lodge. This will be a potluck style meal with beverages. Spreading Help Around You is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2014 in honor of Shaylyn Anela Pinoliar, who tragically passed away on November 14, 2012. Our mission is to help and support families who have lost a loved one, educate them on the importance of being prepared during such a time of loss, and provide active service to the community.  As well as promoting Pedestrian Safety Awareness. This year, we proudly launched the SHAY Scholarship Program, marking an exciting new chapter in our commitment to supporting education and empowering future leaders.  Each year, since Shaylyn’s passing, family, friends, and community members gather to honor her memory with an Annual 5k Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, we moved the event to Saturday after Thanksgiving. It was a great success, and we look forward to continuing the tradition this year to honor her memory. SYRACUSE UGLY SWEATER 5K  November 28, 2026 Race Event start time 10:00am Come celebrate the transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season with a fun and festive Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K for runners and walkers. The 12th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K will once again be held at Onondaga Lake Park under the Lights on the Lake. All runners participating in the Ugly Sweater 5K run (either Team Santa or Team Grinch) will receive a custom long sleeve shirt and custom finisher medal. New for 2026 will be the addition of the Ugly Sweater 5K Yeti Walk. All of those participating in the rewarding 5K walk will receive a custom Winter Beanie and a finisher medal. Post race awards ceremony and party will be at the Cobblestone in Liverpool.  There will be awards for the Overall and Age Group winners as well as prizes for best in dress. All donations, both financial and in-kind will go to the Ainsley's Angels of Syracuse this year.
