Brevard Zoo's 2nd Annual Wild Turkey Trot 3k is a family-friendly event and great way to kick off your Thanksgiving day!Runners and walkers of all ages will traverse a course through the Zoo passing animals, their habitats and native plants along the way. The run is set for a 7:30 a.m. start on November 26, 2026. Registered runners get 50% off admission on Thanksgiving weekend by showing their race bib at the Zoo's main service window. The 4th Annual Pelican Yacht Club Turkey Trot 5K will take place on Thanksgiving morning, 2026! The Turkey Trot 5K is a family-favorite tradition that takes place on Thanksgiving morning before all of the festivities begin for the day. Be sure to bring your friends and family so that you can wobble before you gobble!  The 5K begins at the LYCC of Gardner-Webb University and the race route goes throughout the beautiful town of Boiling Springs. Running a race that matters this holiday season is what the Turkey Trot is all about; all proceeds from the race go to the YMCA's We Build People Scholarship Fund so that we can provide financial assistance to those in need so that they can have access to the YMCA. Join us for the 12th Annual 5K Turkey Trot!  This is still a fun, relaxed race, but will now be timed!  All participants will receive a shirt and a medal!  The race starts at 8:00am on Thanksgiving Day at 1718 Brewery.  Start your morning off by taking a run, walk or stroll through Ocracoke Village, celebrate your finish with friends and then head off to enjoy your Thanksgiving feasts.  Wobble first, gobble later!  Fun for all!  **If you cannot join us in person but still want to join in on the fun, you can sign up for the Virtual 5K.  We will mail you your shirt and medal!

The Woodbury Wobble 5K is a community event to encourage movement before the feast and a portion of our profits go to stock the shelves of our local food bank.  With your registration you will receive a race bib, gun timed race, fully marked course, post-race snacks, plus a swag item. Only the first 100 registered runners get the branded knit hat. (As of October 22, 2025 the first 100 hats are claimed. You can now purchase a hat with your race registration.) There will also be the turkey scavenger hunt along the course that kids can complete for a small prize.
