The Odyssey Odyssey Fun Run is entering its 14th year. It has always been centered around having fun and exercising our bodies.  It is an all-inclusive event, which is why all the races are FREE to participate in.  We will be accepting donations for entrance fees but that is not a requirement for participation.  The suggested fees are $20/5k and $10/1mi.  Awards to top 3 each age group as well as top 3 overall. This year's 5K walk is in person on October 25th and can be a solo virtual event for you if you cannot make it on the 19th (Walk anytime, anywhere in the month of October to raise funds for mental health care for the uninsured and underinsured).  This walk benefits Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center, where we are celebrating 24 years of providing access to mental health care and support to people who need it, regardless of their insurance status or income. Our volunteer staff of therapists, social workers, and advocates helps people get the care they need to live safe, healthy, less stressful lives.  Last year, 204 people participated in one or more of our programs. OPEF is a collaborative partner of the Oconomowoc Area School District (OASD).  OPEF raises and   provides funds for innovative educational opportunities and experiences not funded in the core school district budget – including classroom grants, facilities improvements, and innovative curriculum.  OPEF has given more than $500,000 to the OASD in the past 18 years.  Help OPEF continue the legacy of gifts from the community…to the schools…for our future! The 18th annual Freaky Friday 8K takes place on a scenic yet scary course during the darkness.  There will be a post-race awards ceremony complete with food and drinks at Dreamland Barbecue along with a costume contest prior to the start of the run.  Local radio stations and craft beer will also be on hand for registered runners. PLACEKicks Bar and Grill19578 N 1960 East RdTowanda, IL US 61776 DESCRIPTION Race the Dead is a fun run opportunity to dress up and scare your fellow runners, hosted out of Kicks Bar and Grill in Towanda.  The course is a flat 5K in length, but some don't make it past the first water stop.  Scenic luminaries line the old (Dead) RT 66 course and you run past the historic haunted Towanda cemetery on this out and back course. The run is NOT officially timed, but there will be an illuminated clock at the finish line.   While the luminaries gorgeously define the course, we recommend you bring a flashlight, especially if you are a slower runner. Blue Bowling for Boobs is a vibrant and inspiring fundraising event held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This evening combines a friendly bowling competition, delicious bites and beverages, and community spirit to support a vital cause. The event invites participants to form bowling teams and spectators to enjoy an exciting atmosphere filled with fun and camaraderie. Proceeds directly support the Susan G. Komen which provides assistance to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer and research to end breast cancer.   Form a team or come cheer for your favorite bowlers!
