Celebrate the fall colors and changing seasons with a trail run through Secor and Wiregrass Metroparks!! There will be two races - an 8 miler and a 5K (full disclosure...due to the need to use existing trails, the distances are actually about 7.7 and 3.3 miles. So you have the opportunity to set PR's in a new distance!!). Both races start at Secor Metropark on the all-purpose trail. Runners in the 8 miler will start adjacent to the Secor Room at Secor Park, follow the all-purpose trail counter-clockwise, connect to the Moseley Trail and follow it to Wiregrass Lake, then do a loop around the lake and return on the Moseley and all-purpose trails to the finish at the Secor Room. Runners in the 5K will run one loop of the "long version" of the Secor park all-purpose trail. Both courses are flat and non-technical. Walkers are welcome in the 5K. The Eastwood Neighborhood Association (ENA) is excited to once again sponsor the Eastwood 5-Mile Run! The 2026 run will be in-person only (no virtual option). This year's 5K walk is in person on October 25th and can be a solo virtual event for you if you cannot make it on the 19th (Walk anytime, anywhere in the month of October to raise funds for mental health care for the uninsured and underinsured).  This walk benefits Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center, where we are celebrating 24 years of providing access to mental health care and support to people who need it, regardless of their insurance status or income. Our volunteer staff of therapists, social workers, and advocates helps people get the care they need to live safe, healthy, less stressful lives.  Last year, 204 people participated in one or more of our programs. Run/walk 4 mile loop around the beautiful Chadwick Lake in Newburgh, NY. The terrain is a wide gravel trail relatively flat and easy with a few small hills. The fall season is a perfect time to enjoy the foliage of this scenic park while participating in this unique event. Recognition and awards for the top male and female runners overall and within age categories. T-shirts and swag bags included for the first 100 registrations. There will be raffle tickets available to purchase for donated baskets from local businesses. Food and refreshments will be provided. Join the Oconomowoc Public Education Foundation (OPEF) for a 1-mile or 2-mile run to support our schools!  This fall, OPEF is striving to raise at least $25,000 to fund new gymnastics equipment for the elementary schools, sound system improvements at the middle school, and more! The run is NOT officially timed, but there will be an illuminated clock at the finish line.   While the luminaries gorgeously define the course, we recommend you bring a flashlight, especially if you are a slower runner. The 18th annual Freaky Friday 8K takes place on a scenic yet scary course during the darkness.  There will be a post-race awards ceremony complete with food and drinks at Dreamland Barbecue along with a costume contest prior to the start of the run.  Local radio stations and craft beer will also be on hand for registered runners.
