August 8th, 2025.  This is the culminating event in the Capt'n Karl's Trail Series at one of the best privately owned adventure parks in all of Texas, the amazing Reveille Peak Ranch! This park is located 55 miles northwest of Austin in the historic town of Burnet. The amenities at RPR are first class & we will be taking advantage of this by providing our runners, spectators & volunteers with a series finale party. But first, runners will be treated to unique & spectacular geological formations. Navigating over large rock domes with amazing views, while tackling the most elevation gain of our four venues (3812 ft). This course really has it all….single track, exposure, tree-covered woods, hills & technicality. All to challenge even the most seasoned trail runner.   While every racer will get some cool swag, July 16th is the deadline to get a shirt.

The 2025 Kinzua Bridge Challenge 10K, 5K,1 Mile, and 2 Mile Walk will be a staggered start beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, August 11th. The races start at the Center Street Trailhead on the Mt Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails. The course is out and back for each race. The proceeds benefit the Swedish Festival Association who partner with the Mount Jewett Community to host one of the largest festival in the county.  The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival Association will allocate the proceeds of the race to benefit the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship held at the University of Pittsburgh the Bradford Campus. This scholarship supports students in the Energy Science majors. York Parks & Recreation are happy to announce the 2026 Annual York Days 5k Road Race in York, Maine!  The fourth race in the Seacoast Road Race Series, this 5K is part of the Annual York Days Celebrations. This race benefits youth programming throughout York. Registration opens on February 1st, 2026, at 8:00am. Those who register by June 1st will be guaranteed a free race shirt in their requested size. The Brule River Lions Club 5-Miler starts at the Afterhours Ski Trail in Brule, WI off Highway 2.  The run begins on the Afterhours Road; a hard packed gravel road for about 2 miles, then continues through ski trails in the beautiful Brule Forest.  The 2-Miler is a walk/run that is an out and back on the Afterhours road;  perfect for youth, families, and well-behaved leashed dogs.

FIRE CHIEF DARIN J. SABINE Newington Fire Chief Darin Sabine was born on August 4, 1984 in Newington, NH and his lastalarm was on September 7, 2019 after a 2-year battle with colon cancer. Chief Sabine was diagnosed in early 2017 with Stage 4 colon cancer. He had spent much of hisshort time here on earth either with family or at the fire station. He was dedicated to his family andbrotherhood. He fought hard to spend as much time as he could with his wife and 2 little girls. Our hope with this run is that we will keep Chief Sabine’s memory alive and raise funds to support first responders and their families who have been affected by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses or injuries.  The race length of 3.3 miles is in honor of Newington Fire Department 33. The 8th Annual Wildwood Navy Seal Challenge Hosted by The Wildwood Beach Patrol will be held on in conjunction with Wildwood Beach Patrol and Even Kiel Racing his event will have several different types of individual and team events. Races will involve swimming, running, and an obstacle course. The obstacle course will consist of sand and water obstacles.   The swim is a 1 mile ocean swim.  The run is a 5k.  The run obstacles consist hills of sand to run over and water to run through.  For the team challenge you compete as a team. It’s more than a race, it’s a powerful celebration of youth achievement, healthy living, and community support. While this event is exclusively for Race4Chase participants and not open to public registration, we need enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a safe, smooth, and unforgettable experience for every child crossing that finish line.  All race participants will receive a complimentary USA Triathlon Youth annual membership. No code needed this year, as we will upload all participants to USAT after the finale.

An annual 5K run/walk and kids 1 mile race on the streets of Chelsea, NY located in the town of Wappingers  ( NOT the Chelsea in NYC) to benefit the Chelsea Fire Company, and The Robert VanTassel “Live the Dash” scholarship. Given to 2 Beacon High School Seniors, who show sportsmanship, integrity, and 100% commitment to his/her running goals. In 2023, we changed the name of the race to The Robert Van Tassel Live the Dash 5k. Bobby was the race coordinator from the beginning. He ran the race every year and gave the medals out at the end. He was the Fire District Commissioner, past chief, and held every office over the 40 years he served CFD. He passed on October 20, 2022. Running was his passion. He ran until his very last breath. We continue this race in his honor. “LIVE THE DASH”!!                  The race starts and ends at the fire station on Liberty St. and takes you along the Hudson River. The 6th Annual Grow & Walk-A-Thon 5K is back!  As the culminating event of Grow & Walk Philly - a multi-week greening and walking program designed to improve individual and community health - this community wellness event invites neighbors and area residents to have fun will being fit. The Walk-A-Thon will increase your appreciation for the West Oak Lane neighborhood and its green spaces, & connect you to other green thumbs, seedfolks, and health enthusiasts. During the walk neighborhood highlights will include green assets throughout the neighborhood including a library, school, front yard gardens, rec center and a park.  The Grow And Walk- A-Thon begins at the West Oak Lane Library and will be a simple walk starting on one of the main thoroughfares in Northwest Philadelphia - Washington Lane. Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Westminster residents facing hardship due to unforeseen challenges. The Westminster Benefit Fund is made possible entirely through the generosity of local families, businesses, and community groups. Each year, the Runners Helping Neighbors 5K Run/Walk plays a key role in our annual NHN Town Benefit Day—a day filled with fun, connection, and community spirit. This annual community open water swim event typically attracts an average of 200 swimmers split between three different distances. The temperature of the water is typically about 66 degrees F. The swim takes place in a calm, protected cove, and is well supported with at least a dozen volunteers in kayaks/paddleboarders. Cozy unisex t-shirts will be guaranteed for all participants pre-registered by August 1st. Latex swim caps will be provided for all swimmers. If you are allergic to latex, please feel free to bring your own.
