The Shimmy in Shickshinny 1/2 and 1/4 Marathon is BACK for 2026! This flat, fast, and shaded course is PERFECT for a mid-summer half-marathon!The Shimmy in Shickshinny follows the hard-packed Susquehanna Warrior Trail as it runs along the west bank of the Susquehanna River in Luzerne County, PA. The out-and-back route has a total elevation gain/loss of 11 feet and 90% of the trail is shaded.  *NOTE* THIS IS OUR LARGEST SHIMMY YET, SO WE HAVE DECIDED TO SEPARATE THE START OF EACH EVENT. SOUTH CAROLINA TRAIL RUNNERS Runners and families are invited to enjoy the great outdoors on the doorstep of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest South Carolina. The scenic 5k course is a great for novice trail runners and experienced racers alike. The single track trails meander along and across scenic Carrick Creek from the nature center as youclimb toward Pinnacle Mountain. After a short climb, the 5k runners will race downhill, looping back toward the start finish line. Up for more of a challenge? The 15k race course, which is currently closer to a17K,  will test the most seasoned trail runners. It follows the same route as the 5k for the first two miles. However, the 15k course climbs nearly 2000 feet over the first 5 miles. You will struggle to make it over several gaps and reach the race’s high point of Pinnacle Mountain. The 2025 Kinzua Bridge Challenge 10K, 5K,1 Mile, and 2 Mile Walk will be a staggered start beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, August 11th. The races start at the Center Street Trailhead on the Mt Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails. The course is out and back for each race. The proceeds benefit the Swedish Festival Association who partner with the Mount Jewett Community to host one of the largest festival in the county.  The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival Association will allocate the proceeds of the race to benefit the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship held at the University of Pittsburgh the Bradford Campus. This scholarship supports students in the Energy Science majors. This race is designed to raise funds for the annual Recovery Celebration here in Meadville, PA in September, increasing drug overdose awareness (which Drug Overdose Awareness Day is August 31st), and recovery activities brought to you by our agency, the CCDAEC. This event will help raise funds to finance the Jacob Hershberger Memorial Scholarships that will be awarded each year to two Bedford High School Students and to help those in the community in financial need after the death of a young one. The race date is Sunday, August 10th.  Registration begins at 9:00 am and the Race will begin at 10:00 am. This will be a walking and running event.  Awards are given to the top 3 female and top 3 male runners in each age group and the top 3 male and top 3 female walkers overall for both courses. STOMP OUT THE STIGMA is all about raising awareness of mental wellness and eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illness.  Join us in the fastest, flat 5k route in the area or a nice 1 mile race around Waughop Lake.  Parking will be easy at the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus with a short walk down a trail to Fort Steilacoom Park.  The 5k race starts by the lake where you will fly through a flat course at Fort Steilacoom Park and finish back at the entrance of the lake. The 1mile race starts at the entrance of Waughop Lake and takes you on a scenic lap around the lake.  Both routes are mostly paved with a short area that is dirt/gravel. This 5k race is chip timed.  The entry includes a race shirt if you register by 7/21.  Finishing medals will be given to the first 200 finishers.  Don't miss the chance to be a part of this great event! Don’t let your race shoes collect dust this summer. Come out and better your 5k and brunch game with the Sunrise Social Club at the River Region Runners sponsored (R3) Wildcat Summer Cup in downtown MGM. Every second Sunday this summer at 7AM we’ll host a 5k at a unique location. Come for the race, stay for the BYOB potluck brunch. One payment of $20 buys you a bib for the entire series. It’s more than a race, it’s a powerful celebration of youth achievement, healthy living, and community support. While this event is exclusively for Race4Chase participants and not open to public registration, we need enthusiastic volunteers to help make it a safe, smooth, and unforgettable experience for every child crossing that finish line.  All race participants will receive a complimentary USA Triathlon Youth annual membership. No code needed this year, as we will upload all participants to USAT after the finale.

This year’s event will have a 5k run/walk and a children’s 1 mile run/walk!  Everyone is welcome to participate and go at their own pace.  The events will be timed with medals awarded to all participants and special trophies for the winners of all divisions.  There will also be a virtual option for anyone who is not able to make the event in person.  Each event (5k, 1 mile kids run/walk, and virtual) will have standard package including a medal, and a deluxe option including the medal and event shirt.    Scroll down for the sign up links and specific information on each event.   Important information about the kid's 1 mile run:  This 1 mile course is meant to challenge our younger students ages 4-12 to see how quickly they can run 1 mile. Race Start Time and Location: Our 18th Annual Rocco Laurie Memorial Staten Island Triathlon/Duathlon on 8/9/26 is one of our biggest events this season, last year bringing near 400 competitors! The race is popular not only because of an expertly designed closed course, but is also an event dedicated to honoring Rocco Laurie, a Vietnam veteran and NYPD officer, who lost his life while serving his fellow New Yorkers in 1972. Larry Ambrosino, chair of the Rocco Laurie Scholarship Fund, came up with the idea for a race in Staten Island to remember his Mariners Harbor roots and friend. This is also a great race for those training for longer events later in the year, such as Jones Beach Ironman 70.3 on 9/26. The Twins Days 5K Fun Run & Walk will take place on Sunday morning at Dodge Intermediate School, which is across the street from the festival site.  Walkers and strollers are also welcome.  There will also be a kids' "fun run" of just under ¼ mile on the track.  All runners registered before July 31 will be guaranteed to receive a custom event t-shirt which will be designed to match the festival theme - Totally Two-bular! Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA) a 501(c)3 nonprofit is proud to continue the great running history established by The Great Waterville Marathon & Half with the introduction of the WATERVILLE MARATHON – Full/Half/10K/5K – Running Festival on Sunday August 9, 2026 starting at 7:00 am at Thomas College in Waterville Maine allowing more participants of all abilities to cross the finish line. This event is in the process of being USATF sanctioned, and Boston certified.  All courses start at Thomas College, travel along Rt 104 into the beautiful countryside of Waterville, Sydney and Oakland Maine and back to Thomas College.  (course maps can be found on our website).   We have already secured Pine Tree Racing Services to be the official timer for the race.  There is NO TIME LIMIT - we want you to reach your goal to complete the race. This annual community open water swim event typically attracts an average of 200 swimmers split between three different distances. The temperature of the water is typically about 66 degrees F. The swim takes place in a calm, protected cove, and is well supported with at least a dozen volunteers in kayaks/paddleboarders. Cozy unisex t-shirts will be guaranteed for all participants pre-registered by August 1st. Latex swim caps will be provided for all swimmers. If you are allergic to latex, please feel free to bring your own.
