Capt'n Karl's Trail Series - Reveille Peak Ranch

August 8th, 2025.  This is the culminating event in the Capt'n Karl's Trail Series at one of the best privately owned adventure parks in all of Texas, the amazing Reveille Peak Ranch! This park is located 55 miles northwest of Austin in the historic town of Burnet. The amenities at RPR are first class & we will be taking advantage of this by providing our runners, spectators & volunteers with a series finale party. But first, runners will be treated to unique & spectacular geological formations. Navigating over large rock domes with amazing views, while tackling the most elevation gain of our four venues (3812 ft). This course really has it all….single track, exposure, tree-covered woods, hills & technicality. All to challenge even the most seasoned trail runner.   While every racer will get some cool swag, July 16th is the deadline to get a shirt.

Chief Sabine was diagnosed in early 2017 with Stage 4 colon cancer. He had spent much of hisshort time here on earth either with family or at the fire station. He was dedicated to his family andbrotherhood. He fought hard to spend as much time as he could with his wife and 2 little girls. Our hope with this run is that we will keep Chief Sabine’s memory alive and raise funds to support first responders and their families who have been affected by cancer or other life-threatening illnesses or injuries.  The race length of 3.3 miles is in honor of Newington Fire Department 33. The Robert Van Tassel “Live the Dash” Memorial 5k sponsored by Chelsea Fire Company

An annual 5K run/walk and kids 1 mile race on the streets of Chelsea, NY located in the town of Wappingers  ( NOT the Chelsea in NYC) to benefit the Chelsea Fire Company, and The Robert VanTassel “Live the Dash” scholarship. Given to 2 Beacon High School Seniors, who show sportsmanship, integrity, and 100% commitment to his/her running goals. In 2023, we changed the name of the race to The Robert Van Tassel Live the Dash 5k. Bobby was the race coordinator from the beginning. He ran the race every year and gave the medals out at the end. He was the Fire District Commissioner, past chief, and held every office over the 40 years he served CFD. He passed on October 20, 2022. Running was his passion. He ran until his very last breath. We continue this race in his honor. “LIVE THE DASH”!!                  The race starts and ends at the fire station on Liberty St. and takes you along the Hudson River. Wild Fish Swim Festival

This annual community open water swim event typically attracts an average of 200 swimmers split between three different distances. The temperature of the water is typically about 66 degrees F. The swim takes place in a calm, protected cove, and is well supported with at least a dozen volunteers in kayaks/paddleboarders.
