The 26th Annual North American Wife Carrying Championship® returns to Sunday River on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as part of our Fall Fest weekend. It’s weird, wild, and wildly entertaining—this one-of-a-kind event draws competitors and spectators from across the globe to see who has what it takes to carry their partner to victory. Teams race on foot through a 278-yard obstacle course that includes log hurdles, a sand trap, and the fan-favorite “Widow Maker” water hazard. The fastest two teams from the qualifying rounds will advance to a final heat to compete for the championship title—and some pretty quirky prizes, including the wife’s weight in beer and five times her weight in cash. Not Married? No Problem.Couples don’t have to be legally married, but teams must consist of one man and one woman, and both must be at least 21 years old on race day, to qualify for the world championship.

Le Grizz is a 50-mile Ultramarathon run just to the west of Montana's Glacier National Park on a gravel road that parallels the North Fork of the Flathead River. Runners will find themselves gaining views of the magnificent Crown of the Continent, made up of Northern Rockies of Southern British Columbia and Glacier Park, and surrounded by the changing colors of the aspen and larch.  The 2026 course is an out-and-back route which will begin and end at the Glacier Institute's Big Creek Outdoor Education Center, following the North Fork Road just beyond Red Meadow Creek, with a brief detour into our Polebridge Mercantile aid station.  The course contains approximately 2,300 feet of elevation gain across the 50 miles – metrics that are true to the traditional elevation profile of Le Grizz from the legacy Spotted Bear course. The road is undulating gravel with occasional gentle inclines – excellent for folks seeking their first ultramarathon finish.

This race is a non-profit fundraiser for our local Farmers Market! Orange County Homegrown Farmers Market has been a staple in Orleans for over 20 years. We are so proud to have it and this race helps raise funds for the entire operating season! The race itself is a 5k/3.1 miles and you can run or walk. It is a genuinely fun race with little elevation changes (until the very end). As someone who runs the route frequently for fun, I think it is a great course for a PR!

Imagine your beloved pet has an emergency. Like being hit by a car, and he/she urgently needs vet care or he may die. But, you recently lost your job and things are tight and you don’t have $1000+ for a vet bill, no matter how much you love your dog. Or you have a job, and you work hard. You work full time and yet it's barely enough to cover the bills. What if your only choices were to let your pet die or surrender him to a rescue so he may live? We help those pets, and their loving owners, so that the pet doesn’t die and the owners don’t have to surrender it to get it help. Our annual fundraiser, Run for Paws 5K will be October 10, 2026 at Frontier Park in Olathe! 100% of the money raised in our 6h annual Run for Paws 5K will be used to directly pay vets for the urgent and life saving medical care. Since opening in April of 2020, our little fund has donated over $402,000 and helped to keep 1006 pets in their homes, with the families who love them. We ask for nothing in return, and every single penny donated goes directly to vet bills. This run is our only fundraiser, otherwise we operate 100% on donations. Join us for the 2nd Annual Roger B. Lim Memorial Run as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Roger B. Lim—a devoted husband, father, emergency physician, lifelong runner, and passionate supporter of youth soccer. Roger dedicated his life to caring for others, both in the emergency department and in his community. Tragically, he was killed while driving home from work, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and generosity. Running was part of Roger's daily life, and this event honors the discipline, perseverance, and joy he found in every mile. Proceeds from the race will benefit a scholarship fund through the Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Association (CVYSA), continuing Roger's commitment to helping young athletes succeed. Your course winds through forested hillsides, twisting single-track, and steady climbs inspired by the rolling terrain of Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region. Expect a scenic mix of woods, elevation, and flowing trail that keeps the miles interesting from start to finish. Whether you’re here to walk 7 miles or push all the way to 28, the challenge is yours to define. 10 hours. One 7-mile loop. Four distances. How far will you go? Complete your goal within the 10-hour event window. Want another layer of challenge? Take it on with a 10, 20, or 35 lb. ruck or weighted vest. The course will be clearly marked from start to finish, with well-stocked aid stations positioned along the route to keep you fueled and moving. Welcome to the Fox Hourglass Ultra, a relentless test of mental grit, pacing, and pure endurance. There is no finish line in sight, no set distance, and no guaranteed end. There is only the top of the hour, the sounding of the whistle, and the next loop. We will follow the standard backyard ultra format with the exception of the time limit. Fox Hourglass Ultra is a max of 24 hours. The event continues until only ONE runner remains, max of 24 hours. If there are multiple participants for the final 24th hour, the winner will be determined based on who completes the final lap first. Fox Hourglass Ultra is a standard backyard ultra format with the exception of the time limit (24 hours). It is a 24-hour event where participants run a 4.167 mile marked loop on the hour every hour. Each loop begins exactly one hour after the last. If the participant is not in the starting corral for the initial start, the participant is disqualified and receives a “Did Not Finish” (DNF). Each participant must complete the loop and be back at the starting corral within the hour in order to continue. If a participant fails to start or finish a loop within the allotted hour, the participant is out of the race and receives a DNF. Note, the event can end prior to the 24th hour. The course is a straight, flat, point-to-point run heading North on Long Beach Blvd. Air temperature in October on LBI is approximately 65 degrees, winds generally coming from the South. Please register by September 15th to help us accurately order the proper amount of t-shirt sizes and medals for all of our participants. Registering early is a huge help! The funds raised from this year’s race go directly towards improving our programs here at the St. Francis Community Center! Rather than end the multi-sport season with a bang, these athletes end their season with a SCREAM!  Monster Triathlon 2026 marks year 21 and will sell-out early with over 700 athletes! The distances are FAST for the experienced athletes and just right for the beginner. At Monster Keller, you will enjoy the beautiful indoor pool of the Keller Natatorium for a 300 meter swim; jump on your bike for 14.3 miles, and finish strong with a 3.1 mile run. Each event is a little different at the finish line. Some have live bands, but ALL of the events are filled with energy and WONDERFUL costumes which are ENCOURAGED! This is a great race to end your triathlon season!   WEATHER POLICY In the event of inclement weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Past this time, the event course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants. If conditions turn unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director.
