The Robert Van Tassel “Live the Dash” Memorial 5k sponsored by Chelsea Fire Company

An annual 5K run/walk and kids 1 mile race on the streets of Chelsea, NY located in the town of Wappingers  ( NOT the Chelsea in NYC) to benefit the Chelsea Fire Company, and The Robert VanTassel “Live the Dash” scholarship. Given to 2 Beacon High School Seniors, who show sportsmanship, integrity, and 100% commitment to his/her running goals. In 2023, we changed the name of the race to The Robert Van Tassel Live the Dash 5k. Bobby was the race coordinator from the beginning. He ran the race every year and gave the medals out at the end. He was the Fire District Commissioner, past chief, and held every office over the 40 years he served CFD. He passed on October 20, 2022. Running was his passion. He ran until his very last breath. We continue this race in his honor. “LIVE THE DASH”!!                  The race starts and ends at the fire station on Liberty St. and takes you along the Hudson River. This annual community open water swim event typically attracts an average of 200 swimmers split between three different distances. The temperature of the water is typically about 66 degrees F. The swim takes place in a calm, protected cove, and is well supported with at least a dozen volunteers in kayaks/paddleboarders. Appleseeds Cross Country is a competitive cross country racing team. Our team is open to kids going into Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. We compete in several meets throughout the course of the season, which are outlined below. Appleseeds welcomes kids from all schools in the area as well as kids who are homeschooled.  We have 3 age groups: elementary school, middle school, and high school. Elementary athletes will race 1 mile, middle schoolers will race 3k, and high schoolers will race 5k.  The race schedules will differ between age groups. Please make sure you register for the appropriate level based on your child's age. NCPD Police Officer Memorial 5K Run

In 1993 the Nasau Police Running Club held a 5K run in memory of Nassau County Police Officer Gary R. Farley who tragically died in the line of duty. PO Farley was the first officer to lose his life in the line of duty since the inception of the Nassau Police Running Club in 1980. Since 1993, the Nassau County Police has tragically lost many additional members who were serving the people they were sworn to protect. The Nassau Police Running Club has vowed to ensure that these officers lives would not be lost in vain and the club is committed to making sure all members and their families know that we will never forget the sacrifice their loved ones have endured. Into the Hills Eltuck 10k

Join us August 5, 12, 19 & 26 for a fun series of shorter midweek trail races. Our goal is to offer a fun, low-key series of races designed to give newer trail runners an opportunity to dip their toes into the trail racing waters, and to offer more experienced trail racers a chance to sharpen their speed on shorter, quicker courses. All races will start at 6:00pm, ranging in distance from 5k to 12k. Results will be tabulated according to chip times, with series points awarded for each race. Top series finishers will earn unique awards. We'll have a wide selection of vintage Gnar race shirts, and all registrants are welcome to their pick to call their own. Miles for Missions Raffle Run/Walk

Come join us for a combined running, orienteering, and raffle event! Eight raffle ticket stations will be set-up throughout the park. Runners (and walkers) will have 60 minutes to reach as many of the eight ticket stations as they can, collect raffle tickets, and then return to the start. After collecting tickets, participants will return to the start and use their tickets to bid on over 20 raffle prizes. These include Second Sole gift cards and merchandise, local artist items, craft beer and wine, gift baskets, kids toys, and other cool stuff! Participants will choose their own route using park trail maps to reach the ticket stations. The most efficient route will cover about 5.5 miles. No matter how many tickets a participant collects, she/he/they has a chance to win! Birchleggings Club Third Annual Dakota Trail Bicycle Ride

Come join your fellow Birchleggers for the Third Annual bicycle ride on one of the nicest bicycle rail trails in Minnesota on Thursday, August 13, 2026. This well-kept paved trail goes for 28.5 miles from Wayzata to Lester Prairie, Minnesota, past Lake Minnetonka and Lake Waconia. The trail is in Hennepin and Carver counties and goes through the cities of Spring Park, Mound, St. Bonifacius, Mayer, and New Germany. Riders can do the full round trip of 57 miles by parking in Wayzata, or shorter distances of 38 miles by parking in Mound, 29 miles by parking in St. Bonifacius, and even 13 miles by parking in Mayer. LIVE Saunders at Rye Harbor 10K

This year's 50th edition of the Saunders 10k will once again be held on the third Thursday in August, (8/20) starting at 6 pm., and will be limited to 500 competitors. In celebration of our 50th Anniversary, a virtual race will also be held for those who are unable to participate in the official live race. The Live race will be run on a modified version of the original course that winds around and through the town of Rye, NH. The start and finish will be on Central Road near the Partners Bank with the finish and parking across the road in the large field near the turn onto Locke Rd. (Use 211 Central Rd. for GPS location) The race will have cash prizes, AND as in year’s past, there will be a limited number of special T-shirts that will need to be won in each of the age groups  The Saunders 10K is endorsed by the New England 65 plus Runners Club Post-race, we will celebrate with the traditional party.
