Marsh Madness 10K

Come on out and run (or walk) a unique 10K race at the 1,000 acre Howard Marsh Metropark and then enjoy some post-race kayaking or canoeing. The 10K course on the gravel trails on top the marsh dikes is flat, fast, and scenic. The marsh is also home to unique plants, many types of birds, and lots of other wildlife. After the race, you can launch your kayak, canoe, or paddle board and explore the marsh's eight miles of aquatic trails for a complete "marshy" experience. Rental kayaks will be available from the Metroparks. Also whether you're a birder or not, don't forget your binoculars.   Awards in the 10K will be given to the Male and Female Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Masters winners and will consist of a unique marsh-themed sun catcher and gift card from Second Sole running store. Havoc at HartFit OCR 3k

Havoc at HartFit is a 3k Obstacle Course Race (OCR) competition presented by HartFit ELEVATE OCR and The Midwest OCR. Waves (comprised of 3 athletes) will be sent out at intervals of 30 minutes. Each wave will have a strict 40 minute cap to complete the course. The race will be capped at only 50 participants. The top overall Male and Female times will be crowned the winners.  Featured obstacles and stations will include Assault Bike, Low Rig, A Frame Rig, 8ft Wall, Rope Climb, Bucket Carry, Wreck Bag Run, Tire Flips and maybe a few surprises. Athletes will complete a total of 3 laps to achieve the 3k distance. The first 2 laps will consist of 1100 Meters, all obstacles and a 300 Meter Carry. The 3rd lap will consist of an 800 Meter Run, including all obstacles, but excluding the heavy Carry. In addition, we'll be hosting a 1 Mile kids course at the conclusion of the adult event. Run For The Paws

Run For The Paws 5k and 1 mile run benefits the animals at the Wellington Humane Society. The Wellington Humane Society is 501(c) non-profit that serves Sumner County, Kansas. We are a no kill shelter that opened to the public in December 2019. Our mission is to take in unwanted animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We receive no city or county funding, and rely solely on donations to care for the animals at our shelter. All proceeds from this run goes towards providing food and medical care for those currently living at the shelter while they await their forever home.  The 5k will begin at 7:30am and the 1 mile will begin at 8:30am on June 21, 2025 Both races will be held at the Wellington Humane Society, 203 W Hillside. Join us for our 17th Annual Trestle Hustle hosted by the Boone County Hospital Foundation. For the 2026 event, we are offering an in-person event and a virtual option. All abilities are welcome, ages 14 and over. Participants of any age are welcome with a parent or guardian's signed consent. Taking Steps to Support Single Women Facing Homelessness!

Our 2026 WALK FOR WOMEN event will be held on Saturday, June 20th in the Great Valley Corporate Center. It’s a time to come together as a community to walk a mile for women who are working to achieve housing stability.  This family friendly event will include free coffee and snacks, face painting, balloon animals, water ice, fairy hair, live DJ, and a short walk. You will have a great time learning more about our mission and the women we serve. New this year, participants will help build “to-go-bags.” While on the trail, walkers will fill empty bags with personal care and household items from our Giving Garage. The completed bags will be distributed to our women saving them the time and money buying these products on their own.
