The certified course will begin at the City's Waste Water Management Facility quickly accessing the Florence Trail System's Freedom Florence Connections. These trails, located in East Florence, make up approximately 8 miles of the City's Trail system. The course is comprised of natural beauty and history adjacent to the tranquil Jeffries Creek and the Florence Stockade. The Stockade and neighboring National Cemetery developed during the Civil War, and veterans from all wars since that time have been, and are still being, interred here. Runners and walkers will follow a natural path that winds through the woods adjacent to Jeffries Creek, across boardwalks, around the Freedom Florence pond, and return to trails near the old site of the Florence Stockade. The Azalea Festival is on. This is the 3rd race in The Pickens County 5k Race Series. Proceeds from our fundraising efforts go to the Beverly M. Smith Scholarship fund. This memorial scholarship honors Beverly Smith, who was an integral part of the Pickens Women’s Association but left this earth too soon.  The Beverly M. Since the inaugural Mayor’s Cup in 2007, we've raised over $350,000 to provide resources for preschoolers throughout the Tuscaloosa area. The Mayor's Cup is a simple, fun way for the entire community to get together and get involved in supporting education.  The Tuscaloosa Mayor's Cup 5K is a proud partner of the Tuscaloosa Runners' Championship (TRC), presented by Fleet Feet Tuscaloosa. The TRC is a season-long competitive series connecting seven local races from October through May, where runners earn points at each event toward a citywide leaderboard. Every finisher earns points, and the top runners in each age group compete for series titles at the Championship Finale 10K on May 15, 2027. Register for this race and start building your season. This event is a walkathon on April 24th, 2027 in El Dorado County (EDC). This walkathon will raise money for the non-profit Jenna Sue Souza Furst Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships and a free therapy session to local high school students within EDC. The walkathon aims to spread mental health awareness with an emphasis on our youth. The trail will start at the Placerville Town Hall, go through main street, and loop back to Placerville Town Hall, utilizing the EDC trail at the end. The registration at the event will begin at 8am and will close at 9am. The walk will begin at 9am. T-shirts and raffle tickets will be available for purchase on this website and at the event. Local businesses will be donating fantastic and generous raffle prizes. If you would like to attend, but not walk, please consider donating $20 and join us at 10:30am at the Placerville Town Hall. We will have light refreshments available. Please buy raffle tickets through the store above.  We will walk
