Come join us on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard for a stunning full and half marathon. Both races promise gorgeous ocean views, the natural beauty of the center of the island, and all the charm the island has to offer. Both courses are flat and fast, with a couple rolling hills on the marathon course. The finish line for both races is in Oak Bluffs, at Waban Park.  In order to host a safe and enjoyable event in a fragile environment, this race will be capped at 500 runners total. As a USATF sanctioned event, all participants must be at least 16 years of age.  The marathon will start at 8:00 am Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School. The money raised from the Rat Race will now go right back to BR athletics in attempts to improve our athletic facilities, keep highly qualified coaching staff, provide equipment for our athletes, provide an athletic trainer at all home events as well as help cover the cost for opportunities for our athletes to improve their skills and abilities outside the typical season.  This is a fundraising event so in efforts to keep cost low this will not be a chipped event. Runners will all have a BIB and the race will be timed. There are opportunities for individuals to get involved that are not interested in running too, check our sponsorship donations :). Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay – April 25, 2026 Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay is a one-of-a-kind spring ultramarathon in Michigan’s Thumb. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, runners and ruckers will take on the challenge of racing from Lake Huron in Harbor Beach to Saginaw Bay in Caseville in the 50 Mile division—or team up with friends for the 50 Mile Relay. The 50K features a flat out-and-back course starting and finishing in Caseville. This race offers the rare opportunity to run point-to-point across the Thumb on mostly dirt and unimproved rural roads. The Norwegian Foot March is an annual event presented by the Vessey Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). For the fourth year, it is adding a 30K and 5K Trail Run option open to all military families, Junior and Senior ROTC programs, and the general public. Molly's Miles 5K, 10K and Virtual Run is a mid-Missouri race that raises money to support the family members of police officers killed in the line of duty. All proceeds from the race will be provided to Missouri Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). The race is named after Officer Molly Suzanne Thomas Bowden who was mortally wounded while conducting a routine traffic stop on the night of January 10, 2005 in Columbia, Missouri. Molly passed away on February 10, 2005 at the age of 26 years old. She had been on the Columbia Police force for over three years and was the first Columbia Police officer killed in the line of duty. The slogan for this race is "In Honor of the Survivors," and focuses on the surviving families and affected co-workers of Missouri law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The inaugural Simon’s Heart of a Champion 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 8AM.  All proceeds from the event will equally benefit the Simon J. Mariani Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department & EMS Co #1 (Fire Department), both IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) not for-profit organizations.   The Foundation awards educational scholarships and hardship financial relief distributions to needy individuals. The Fire Department provides fire, water rescue, and EMS services year-round to residents of Surf City and the surrounding communities. The Feet for the Street 5K, was created to raise awareness and much needed financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a private, nonprofit alternative educational option for at-risk high school students in the Forsyth County area. The Street School combines small class sizes, caring, individualized attention, and an unwavering belief that the students we serve, when given a second chance, can not only thrive in high school, but be better prepared for success in life as well.  In the last 21 years, nearly 400 students have overcome personal issues and learning difficulties to graduate and receive an accredited high school diploma from the Street School. The Tobacco Road Relay is a one day, 75-mile relay-style running race.  Teams of 2-6 runners navigate the 75-mile course, which begins in Chapel Hill, runs through Durham to the finish in Raleigh.  The course is divided into 12 legs (6 runners = 2 legs/runner), with each leg ranging in distance from 4.2 - 9.6 miles.  Teams are permitted one team vehicle to navigate between exchange zones and to carry their inactive runners, food, water, sports drinks, first aid, ice and other needed supplies.
