Races Near Me: Upcoming Running Races

This race uses part of the Hellgate 100k course (miles 47-52 but in reverse, which is, by far the better direction).  It’s a great backcountry section of the Glenwood Horse Trail that goes between Bobletts Gap Road and the Bearwallow Trailhead.  Due to parking limitations, this event will be capped at 100 vehicles and we’ll be shuttling racers to the start, 4.1 miles away. The course will climb approximately 1 mile on a dirt road before climbing, steeply for .3 miles, onto the Glenwood Horse Trail.  You will be on the GHT for the remaining 5 miles to the finish.  This is a great trail that travels past many old mines.  It’s an up and down route until the last 1.5 miles that will have you screaming down one of the best sections of trail.  Beware the rock gardens at the 5 mile mark of the course. Make sure you carpool when you can and park closely to the person next to you.  The park has limited parking. * In the event of inclement weather, this race may be run as an out and back.

Weather Update! Due to the snow storm the race is delayed 2 hours.  The half marathon will start at 10:30am and the 10K at 10:45am. When is the Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K?The 2027 Montgomery Half Marathon & 5K will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2027. What time does the race start?Half Marathon – 7:00 am5K – 7:15 am. Where does the race start and finish?The race starts in front of the water tower on Tallapoosa Street and finishes in The Riverwalk Stadium. Where can I park?Downtown is filled with plenty of parking. Great American Trail Race - Land Between the Lakes - 23rd year! LBL trail runs will happen on the second Saturday in March. March 13, 2027 There are four distances to choose from; 50 mile, 60KM, Marathon, and 23KM. They all begin together, along the shoreline of beautiful Kentucky Lake, and proceed about 2 miles to the fabulous Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, and the trail head. The Canal Loop is approximately 11.3 miles, mostly single-track, nicely packed dirt track consisting of rolling hills on the Lake Barkley side of the course, and larger hills on the Kentucky Lake side. The course yields spectacular views of both lakes, and is very runnable. Sorry, we are dog owners, and love them, but DOGS are not allowed to run or walk with any participant due to insurance policy. We suggest you come early, or stay later and walk the trails with your pups. They'll love it. This event raises money for Impression 5 Science Center's scholarship program. Impression 5 Science Center is a dynamic, interactive space for families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science together. By participating in this event, you’ll support their scholarship programs, which increase access to their exhibits and experiences for children and families throughout our community. Join us for the Clare Irish Festival Road Race on Saturday, March 13th, 2027. This will also mark the 52nd year for the Clare Irish Festival! This year's race will again begin at Clare High School!! The Clare High School address is: 306 Schoolcrest Ave. Clare, MI 48617 The race features a 5K Run, 10K Run, and 2 Mile Walk. The 10K Run will start at 9:00am, the 5K run will start at 9:05am, and the 2 Mile walk will begin at 9:15am. All races will feature chip timing for both the start and the finish. The start/finish line is in front of Clare High School. T-Shirts are limited to the first 400 participants to sign up, and each participant in the 5K, 10K, or 2 Mile walk will also receive a free pancake breakfast. Early packet pick-up and registration is from 6:00-8:00pm at the Clare High School Cafeteria on Friday, March 12th, 2027. Please enter through the High School cafeteria doors. History: Three Creeks Torrent Trail Runs is a race sponsored by Columbia Track Club that takes place at Three Creeks Conservation Area, about ten minutes south of Columbia, Missouri. The area is unique in that the land was originally largely owned and worked in 40 and 80 acre parcels purchased by freed slaves following the Civil War. Some former homesteads are even still visible today. Course: The course is an approximate 10 mile loop. It is about 80% single track trail and 20% jeep/gravel road, with a variety of terrain. There are approximately ten creek crossings per loop, so you will get wet. There is about 950 feet of elevation gain per loop. MapMyRun GPX File Race Headquarters: Three Creeks Conservation Area trailhead at the end of Deer Park Road (Three Creeks Parking). Please be sure to navigate to this specific trailhead, as other locations you may find on Google will take you elsewhere. Here's a map with a pin on the start: Race Start Start Time: Saturday, March 13, 2027 - 7:00 a.m. (50K), 8:00 a.m. (20 miles), and 9:00 a.m. (10 mile & 10 mile ruck). Time Limit: The time limit to complete the course is 8 hours for the 50K, 7 hours for the 20 mile, and 6 hours for the 10 mile and 10 mile ruck. 20 mile runners must start their final loop by 11:30 a.m., and 50K runners must start their final loop by 12:30 p.m. The cutoff at the Tomlin trailhead aid station is 2:00 p.m. All races will end at 3:00 p.m. Aid: 2 aid stations (Start/finish at Deer Park Road trailhead and on the course at Tomlin Hill trailhead) stocked with a variety of food, water and drinks. Two port-a-potties will be available at the start/finish area and another at the Tomin Hill aid stations approximately 5.5 miles on the course. 50K and 20 mile racers can leave a drop bag at the start to access before their second and third loops. PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL BE A CUP FREE EVENT. All runners must carry a water bottle or hydration pack. Entry fees are as follows (includes all processing fees): $70 for the 50K $59 for the 20-mile $54 for the 10-mile run or 10-mile ruck Please register by February 8 to guarantee a shirt and special finisher item. Registration prices will increase by $10 per race on February 9, 2027, and again by $10 per race on March 7, 2027. There will be no race day registration and no refunds. Participants may transfer their entry through RunSignUp up to one week before the race, as outlined below. The event is limited to 135 total participants across all races. Park management reserves the right to cancel the race due to adverse conditions. Ruck Qualifications: Ruck participants will cover the same 10-mile course as the runners, starting at 9:00 AM sharp alongside the 10-mile run. You’ll have six hours to finish, whether you’re hiking, running, or crawling—just make sure you’re moving under your own power the entire time. To qualify as a ruck and be eligible for awards, you must carry a minimum of 30 pounds for men, and 20 pounds for women, not including water or food. We'll check packs at the start and finish, so make sure you meet the minimum weight requirement both before you take off and after you cross the finish line—no stashing your gear out on the course. Weighted vests are allowed, but any load bearing gear must be worn the entire time and not carried by hand. If you would like to use less weight, that's fine but you not be eligible for awards. Trekking poles are allowed. Packet-Pickup/Check-In: Packet pickup will be Friday, March 12, 2027 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Tryathletics, 1605 Chapel Hill Rd, Columbia. Depending on the weather, we may be set up in parking lot. Packets will be available at the race site after 6:00 a.m. on race day. Race Day Headquarters will be located at the trailhead on Deer Park Road. We strongly encourage you to pick up on Friday if possible. All participants will be required to check in at Race Headquarters on race day by signing a sign-in sheet. Parking on race day is limited, and car pooling is greatly encouraged. Parking is available along both sides of Deer Park Road near the trailhead, and in a small lot off of Deer Park Road. Runners cannot park in the Start/finish area. Post-Race: Food will be available as runners finish. Have your bib number with you to receive a meal. Someone will mark your bib to indicate you've eaten once. Transfer to Another Event:: Runners can sign into their RunSignUp account and transfer to a different event up until Thursday. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. This St Patricks day themed fun run consists of a 5KXL (4 mile) and 10K XXL (8 mile) Run, Walk, Race, up to you! The main goal is to have a great time and to kick off the 2026 running season! Starting from Racers Village at the Farmers market, Run down the paved Wildwood Greenway to a fun out and back across and through the Wildwood bridges and tunnels for the Patty 5K XL (4 miles) OR take the turn around in Racers village for the 10K XXL. (8 miles) After the Run, Head over to the afterparty at Wildwood Pub for your free drink of Jameson Cocktail and enjoy their great menu!
