What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! Join us for the 5th annual Island 25 or Island 15 Bike Race on Howland Island- part of the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area on Saturday, June 6, 2026. A great warm up event for the Black Fly Challenge the following week. Riders of both the Island 25 and the Island 15 will start at the Savannah Fire Dept. (corner of Rt 89 and Savannah Spring Lake Rd). There is lots of free parking. Helmets are required to be able to participate in the races. The Rodeo Road Rally is back on June 6, 2026. With 4 distances to choose from, we've got you covered! Routes are ~17, 29, 54 and 64.    After finishing the ride, enjoy a great lunch provided by Whataburger of Mesquite that is included free with your registration.  You'll be able to eat it in Hanby Stadium.  The Annual Rodeo Road Rally event is the Rotary Club of Mesquite's flagship fundraiser program. The rally brings in 850+ riders of all ages from across Texas and other states. The club was able to give back more than $35,000 to the community through scholarships to local high school students, and donations to the Mesquite ISD Education Foundation, Sharing Life Community Outreach, Addressing Mesquite Day, and a number of other local groups. In addition, the cost for student leaders to attend Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening), a week-long leadership camp for emerging high school leaders is covered.

DRC Rock Springs Ramble

The Decatur Running Club is sponsoring a timed 5k beginning at 8 a.m. on June 6th and a Kid's Ramble at 7:30 a.m. ages 10 and under.   The start/finish will take place at the east parking lot on the trail.  The paved course is an out and back.  Water station will be available along the course.   Proceeds are used to fund club events as well as supporting youth running programs in the Decatur area.   This race will be hand timed (NO BIB) by the Decatur Running Club.
