Sgt Chris Hampton Memorial 5k

Dearborn, MI
On November 25th, 2020, during his tour of duty, our Dearborn Police family lost our colleague Sgt. Christopher Hampton to suicide. Chris was a wonderful human being, a caring friend, a loving son, brother and father, and an amazing Police Officer. The Dearborn Police Officer’s Charity decided to start this run/walk in 2021 in Chris’ memory, as his passing brought to light the importance of raising awareness of all those who suffer from anxiety, depressive and other mental health issues – particularly first responders, who often remain silent about these same struggles.   Partnering with the City of Dearborn and Trivium Racing, our inaugural event was a great success, heavily support by our community who turned-out to sponsor, support, volunteer and participate. 2025’s 5th 5K was our biggest and best so far. Keeping Chris’ memory alive, we continue to work with his family to present each event with a theme based on his vast love of ‘80’s and '90's movies.  Past themes Robo Cop,

Outrun Hunger 5K race - and 1-mile fun walk

Springfield, MA
Join Rachel’s Table of Western Massachusetts to outrun hunger! This year’s 5K race and 1-mile fun walk helps us to race to fill the bowls of those in need!  Funds go directly to programs that feed people in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties. Those programs include 987,000+ pounds of food annually donated and delivered, purchased and gleaned, and our Growing Gardens program, where we mentor and support those most directly impacted by food insecurity to grow their own culturally meaningful and desired food!!! Our goal: Nourish Western MA - one delivery, one glean, one garden at a time.  Your participation in this race or walk, in person in Forest Park (parking in the park itself is $3, volunteers will be reimbursed) or virtually, makes the difference, truly, whether our neighbors are fed or not. Please run or walk, invite your friends, create a team, enjoy the day. You can also REALLY help us by peer-to-peer fundraising - asking friends and family, near and far, to support you
