Adopt America Network was founded in 1983 by Richard K. Ransom, who also founded Hickory Farms. Mr. Ransom dedicated his life to helping children and since he established AAN, nearly 5,000 children from foster care have found homes and families through the network. AAN provides services to over 300 children and 500 families annually.

This is a run through the village streets of Middleburgh, NY that is held in conjunction with the Villages 4th Friday events. Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is hosting a VIRTUAL 5K in support of Rabies Free Africa.    Earlier this year, our very own, Dr. McIntosh traveled to Africa to participate firsthand in RFA’s dog and cat vaccination campaigns. During her trip, she joined other veterinary professionals in the field to vaccinate dogs and cats, learn about local public health challenges, and witness the life-saving impact of this program on both people and animals. Her experience brought to life the incredible importance of rabies prevention efforts and strengthened our hospital’s commitment to continuing this partnership. Rabies is a preventable yet deadly disease that still affects thousands of people worldwide, particularly in regions where access to vaccines and education is limited. The statistics underscore just how crucial this work is: An estimated 60,000 people die from rabies each year99% of rabies cases are in Africa and AsiaApproximately 50% of rabies victims are children under the age of 16.

Celebrating its 44th Anniversary, the Bayshore Marathon has become a “must run” for runners throughout the Midwest and beyond. Many runners return year after year to enjoy the scenic courses which run along the shores of beautiful Grand Traverse Bay. Hosted by Traverse City Track Club, Bayshore features a 10K, half marathon a full marathon, and a kids 1.2 mile fun run. The number of runners in all three races is limited to ensure a more enjoyable experience. Traverse City Track Club uses proceeds from Bayshore to sponsor many running and health related activities in and around Northwest Michigan.

Are you ready to Kiss the Goat? Get ready for an outstanding 1/2 Marathon and 10K trail running event in eastern Kentucky. These trails offers some difficult climbs but with the addition of fast descents and flowy miles. This will be the 4th year of this event and second year with the 1/2 and 10K distances.  The 10K route will be roughly 1250 feet of climbing and the half marathon around 2500 ft of climbing. Runners will do a 6.56 mile loop in each direction for the half marathon, and one lap, with a bit of a short cut for the 10K. NO DOGS ON COURSE. They are welcome at the facility, but not the race course.  This race is suggested for experienced trail runners/hikers. 14th Annual Samuel F Pearson Memorial Day Event Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 Event is raising money in honor of Sam Pearson for the Piqua Education Foundation (PEF) for scholarships in his name.Sam was a soldier in the Army serving our country and paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedoms. Join us for an early morning annual Memorial Day weekend run or walk in memory of Scott Procopio who was killed in action 20 years ago in Ramadi, Iraq on April 2nd. The Mount Wilson Trail Race returns this year and will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026.  Race start time is 7:30 a.m., with packet pickup beginning at 6:00 a.m. that day. This will be the full 8.6 mile course from Kersting Court, up the Mount Wilson Trail to Orchard Camp, and back. Join us in donating to the Fletcher Trail Maintenance Fund, which supports our dedicated Trail Maintenance Crew volunteers with the necessary equipment, materials, supplies and tools.  Your donation is greatly appreciated and makes a real difference for this historic trail running event and community! Our History: First run in 1908, the annual Mount Wilson Trail Race is one of the oldest trail races in California. The elevation gain is over 2,160 feet on a winding course. The original path, first used by the Gabrielino Indians, was dug out by Benjamin "Don Benito" Wilson in 1864.

The Salute To The Military Triathlon is an event for everyone from novice to experienced and honors our military personnel and veterans. A Sprint Triathlon and Aquabike race followed by a youth race makes for a great family event and a chance for the youth to take part in the sport of triathlon. Don't forget about our DUATHLON option as well! A huge hit in 2022!!  The DUATHLON will start with a .9 mile run, followed by our full bike and run course.  For your young racers, this is a MUST DO event! A pool swim, and a protected bike and run course make this a great first (or 50th) race for your budding triathlete!

Those crazy cows are back for the 19th annual Chick-fil-A 10K/5K along with the Running of the Cows Fun Run! The 2026 event features the scenic Mariners' Museum, Lions Bridge and lots of family fun in Newport News, VA. Join us for a great run and to Eat More Chicken! All 3 races offer fast, all-paved courses.  The 10k and 5k take you through the Mariners' Museum, Lion's Bridge, Riverside Drive and along the James River. This USATF certified course is smooth, easy to follow and perfect for runners or walkers of all levels! After your race stick around for the the Post Party and Family Fun Zone, filled with activities for the whole family. Once again, we've partnered with the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to help provide meals to our community.  Runners can donate to the Foodbank during online registration.
