Walk The Line - 24 hours for our First Responders

Seven Springs, NC
Every day, our first responders walk the line between chaos and calm—between saving lives and losing parts of themselves in the process. They run toward danger, stand firm in crisis, and carry burdens few can see. But when the sirens go silent, who stands for them? Walk the Line is a 24-hour endurance walk dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of first responders. It’s not a race—it’s a symbol. A steady, continuous act of solidarity that reflects the weight they carry long after their shift ends. For 24 hours straight, we walk to: Honor the silent struggles of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and other frontline heroes.Raise awareness about PTSD, burnout, and the stigma that keeps too many from getting help.Fund mental health programs, crisis intervention, and peer support networks tailored for first responders. Run Wild! Rabies Free Africa 5K

Virtual, CO
Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital is hosting a VIRTUAL 5K in support of Rabies Free Africa.    Earlier this year, our very own, Dr. McIntosh traveled to Africa to participate firsthand in RFA’s dog and cat vaccination campaigns. During her trip, she joined other veterinary professionals in the field to vaccinate dogs and cats, learn about local public health challenges, and witness the life-saving impact of this program on both people and animals. Her experience brought to life the incredible importance of rabies prevention efforts and strengthened our hospital’s commitment to continuing this partnership. Rabies is a preventable yet deadly disease that still affects thousands of people worldwide, particularly in regions where access to vaccines and education is limited. The statistics underscore just how crucial this work is: An estimated 60,000 people die from rabies each year99% of rabies cases are in Africa and AsiaApproximately 50% of rabies victims are children under the age of 16.
