Firefly 2 Miler – May 9, 2026 Location: Lake Erie BluffsStart Time: 8:45 PM The Firefly Night Race is a glowing 2‑mile adventure held at the beautiful Lake Erie Bluffs. Runners take off into the darkness as the illuminated course lights their way like a trail of dancing fireflies. Every step feels magical as the shoreline night sky wraps around the experience. Carthage Water & Electric Plant (CWEP) is hosting our annual Tower 2 Tower Run featuring a 5k & 1-mile fun run/walk, on Saturday, May 9th. This event helps celebrates Drinking Water Week (May 3rd-9th). This is an important week set aside each year to help bring awareness to the Carthage community of the benefits of tap water, that a safe, reliable water supply is critical to the success of any community. Join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 4 pm for a color walk/run in Hebron, Kentucky starting and ending at North Pointe Elementary School. In partnership with the Hebron Business Association, the color run event will raise funds to support the work of the Family Resource Centers and the Youth Service Centers for the Boone County Schools located in Hebron – Conner Middle and High School, North Pointe, Thornwilde, and Goodridge. Activities start at 4pm and the run will begin at 5pm.

Day of race will kick off with the Battle of the High School Bands starting in the courthouse square at 4:00pm. Food Fest gates will open at 6pm at the start of the race. Warren County Parks and Recreation is hosting the 3rd Annual P.A.C.E. Marathon and Half Marathon in 2026! PACE stands for Parks and Community Events, and the goal of this race is to have people experience these two communities. This year's race will feature the communities of Smiths Grove and Oakland, a truly beautiful section of Warren County, KY. All marathon and half marathon participants will receive a shirt, and marathon and half marathon finishers will receive a unique medal that features these two communities. The Sheyenne High School Track & Field Team is proud to host the 10th Annual Greg Grooters Memorial Run on the streets of West Fargo on Saturday, May 9, 2026.Greg Grooters passed away in 2016 after battling cancer. He was a dedicated teacher, coach, and administrator within West Fargo Public Schools. As the first principal of Sheyenne High School, Greg took great pride in establishing the school and building traditions that continue to shape its culture today.Greg was also an avid runner and passionate supporter of track and cross country. He participated in countless road races and coached the West Fargo and Moorhead High School track and cross country teams to State Championships. The RELAY CHALLENGE is a community event for 6-12 grade students of Sylvania and Sylvania Township to participate in a unique and memorable experience. The Relay will include as many as 20 teams, made up of ten (10) members each.  Each participant will run or walk at least one mile at a time, then pass the timing chip to the next member, and so on.  This process will continue for the entire event. While the teams are circling the track, there will be continuous activities, entertainment, and food -- plus a chance to meet others who choose a healthy lifestyle.  Without a doubt, it will definitely be hours of memorable fun for everyone

DescriptionThe Ultimate Raider Challenge is hosted by the Grant Co HS JROTC and is a dynamic physical fitness competition designed to test teams and individual competitors’ endurance, speed, and agility, and teams' overall teamwork. The event is one continuous race that begins with a 1-mile run to assess cardiovascular stamina and set the tone for the day.  The 1-mile run will end at the 1st Obstacle Course Obstacle.  Competitors then tackle an approximately 1.5-mile obstacle course, navigating through a variety of physical challenges that test strength, coordination, and mental toughness. After the last obstacle, participants continue directly to the football field to sprint through a shuttle run, emphasizing quick bursts of speed, strength, stamina, agility, and precise movement. A backyard-style run-til-you-stop ultra race at Kate Furbish Preserve East in Brunswick, ME. Join us for a long, fun, hard day of running on coastal Maine trails on May 9, 2026! Sample some of the finest single and double track Buttermilk Mountain (elevation 121ft) has to offer. Nutrition: not provided. PFAS: guaranteed. Stoke: High. What is a backyard race? Run a 4.17 mile lap on the same course every hour on the hour. If you don't finish a loop within the hour, you are out of the race. 12 hour cutoff time for a maximum of 50 miles of running. The race is open to all experience levels! Run as many or a few loops as you like. We are excited to say that we are returning for our traditional Sunday (Mother's Day) event!!!  The Crab Run consists of a half marathon (13.1 miles) immediately followed by a 5k (3.1 miles) run, all from the grounds of Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh, located at 0 Somerset Avenue, Cambridge. The Brian Demchak Hope Challenge is a fundraiser that you participate in at your convenience with people or pets you enjoy while filling in the gaps with hope for patients and employees at St. Margaret. No crowds, no traffic, no parking, no restroom lines, no 6:00 am alarm. Choose a fitness challenge that works with your routine anytime from May 10 through May 16, 2026. Run, walk, or bike a 5k, challenge yourself to 10 push-ups a day, beat your friends in a pickleball match, you choose! Brian Demchak loved participating in a 5k, and he loved doing it with someone he loved - his mom. Get active and get together to honor Brian and support patients in crisis at UPMC St. Margaret.  The first 200 participants will receive a race shirt and a finisher's medal. Participants who fundraise online to help fill in the gaps with hope for patients and employees receive FREE REGISTRATION if they raise $50!
