LASAA’s mission is to provide athletic events for our members, comprised of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department employees and law enforcement personnel, to promote health, fitness, and camaraderie.  The Mug Run series started in 1993. The primary participants were law enforcement personnel with an average of 10 runners.  Since then, the Mug Run series opened its participation to the general public. Today, participation has grown to over 300 runners.   The race provides outside friendly competition and positive interaction between law enforcement and the community.  Race day pricing increases to $40 so make sure to sign up early.   Day of Race check in and same day registration starts at 6:30am and closes 7:45am.  The race starts at 8am. Each runner will receive a T-shirt on race day.

Come join us in the beautiful redwood groves of the Santa Cruz Mountains! Tucked away just outside Silicon Valley, Sanborn County Park features miles of single-track trails dappled with filtered light through lush canopy. Half Marathon and 10K runners will ascend to peaks offering spectacular views and all distances will include breathtaking single track trails. While experienced runners will enjoy the challenge and exploration of new territory, those new to the trails will also discover a whole new world of running where it is perfectly normal (and highly recommended!) to walk the hills and save your energy for the flat and downhill sections. All courses include a mix of fire roads, single track and very small sections of paved trail. The half marathon and 10K include a climb up to the top of Sanborn Park. The run is held on the golf course at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. It's a great opportunity to run through the beautiful golf course with some of the most dramatic elevation changes in central Florida.  It is a stroller friendly race.  Walking entrants are also welcome. Music and snacks will be available for participants around the country club pool at the end of the run.  Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age category, male and female. By finishing the race you will also earn a medal.
