The KP High School SADD chapter will host its annual Miles for Maura fundraising event, a 5K Run/Walk in memory of Maura D. Howard on Sunday, May 3. On July 31, 1994, on her way home from a weekend trip with friends, Maura was killed by a drunk driver who was speeding recklessly down the highway. Because of this destructive decision, life for Team Howard and Maura's extended loving family and friends has never been the same. Honoring Maura's memory is our top priority. Spreading awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving through scholarships for graduates of KP, Maura's alma mater, is a critical piece of the mission. The idea behind this race was to bring the community together, be outside and run/walk in memory of Kaci. Kaci herself never stopped! She was such a spirited girl that was constantly on the go trying to keep up with her older brothers and their friends. The Big Heart Big Smile Foundation was created in memory of Kaci Edelbrock, a six year old who passed away in 2018.  The Kaci 5K invites all families to run/walk with babies in strollers and dogs on leashes. Kaci would have wanted everyone to be included. All of the money raised for this event goes directly into programs such as, the Kaci Edelbrock Memorial Scholarship, Kaci’s Big Toy Giveaway, Kaci’s Backpack Project, Kaci’s Big Hugs, and Kaci’s Kindness Cards. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Winding through a beautiful Ann Arbor neighborhood near the University of Michigan campus, the tree-lined Burns Park Run loop course has been a favorite of beginner and world-class runners alike. The Burns Park Run will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026.  It is a long-standing and successful fundraiser, organized and run by volunteers, that supports Burns Park Elementary PTO programs.  We are excited to celebrate our 48th anniversary this year.  Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the Burns Park Run 5K and 10K races annually draw 1,000 to 1,500 runners aged 5 to 90 years, with over 200 elementary school kids running the 5K.  For the youngest of participants, there is a separate 1/2 mile Fun Run around the park. This community race is organized by the Latino Medical Student Association at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in partnership with Casa de Salud, a nonprofit health organization serving the St. Louis area. Come out for a fun and meaningful event that supports uninsured and underinsured individuals in St. Louis. Half of all proceeds will go directly to Casa de Salud, helping them continue to provide essential services such as health screenings, physical exams, and other vital medical care. Help us celebrate one of Independence's most famous residents at this fun family event at the Harry S Truman Library and Museum!  The race starts at the Library and the course travels through the historic downtown neighborhood and the Independence Square before returning to the Harry S Truman Library & Museum. Welcome to the 2nd Annual Latitude 29.2 Triathlon at Fort Travis Seashore Park located on the Bolivar Peninsula. This beautiful and historical property will the site for the Latitude 29.2 Triathlon on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. The swim will take place in the Gulf of Mexico with a protected barrier on both sides, the bike will take place on Hwy. 87 with an out and back route (Two loops for Olympic and one loop for sprint) and a run through a local neighborhood with beautiful views of the gulf. (One loop for the sprint and two loops for the Olympic)   Enjoy a great after party with local brewers, great music, food, and more. This property offers a great play ground for the kids and a beautiful view for all. Bolivar offers one hotel and several beautiful homes to be rented for a complete weekend of fun. The May Day 5K Race will start and end at the Cheshire Children's Museum. The route will follow the Cheshire Rail Trail and turn around at the Bradford Road trail entrance.  The Cheshire Children's Museum will be hosting our 1st annual May Day 5K Run/Walk on Sunday May 3rd, 2026. This family friendly 5K rail trail race also includes free activities, food, community sponsor booths and more. The Kids 1 Mile Run will start at 10:00 am and the 5K Run/Walk will start at 10:30 am. The race will begin and end at the museum with a turn-around just before Bradford Road.  The museum is open to the public, no reservations required. The 23rd annual Madison MEF 5K Race will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026. We are excited to have a NEW COURSE this year, which will start on the Madison High School (MHS) track, go through the Madison Recreation Complex (MRC), and include a short trail section around the Madison Community Garden. The new course will showcase the updated MHS track and turf field, the new MRC solar panels, and other recent improvements to our high school and grounds!   Register by April 7th to ensure you have a chance to order a t-shirt! The 10th annual 5K run and 2K walk hosted by Salem County Vo-Tech to honor the memory of Ian Bradley. Ian was an SCVTS graduate who lost his life serving in the US Air Force in 2016.
