According to German Folklore Saint Nicholas rewards good children with sweets and gifts and Krampus punishes bad ones with switches and on occasion Krampus kidnaps the misbehaved by putting them in a sack or basket to haul away to the underworld! On November 28th at 10am the Krampus 5k run and 1 mile walk will take place at the Utica Maennerchor Club at 5535 Flanagan Rd Marcy, NY 13403! This is an out and back course starting from the Maennerchor, up to the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus finishing back at the club. Let's see who can get back without getting caught by Krampus and ensure St. Nicholas will visit you this Christmas!! Stick around after the race for a fun post-race party inside the Utica Maennerchor. Preregistered Runners and Walkers will receive a Krampus winter hat if registered before November 14, 2026. The charter of the Utica Maennerchor adopted back then was and still is ““…the object of UMC shall be charitable and for the study of the German language and culture and fostering of German American singing.””. Twice a year the Maennerchor’s chorus, along with invited other choruses, put on a concert singing songs in both German and English. This year’s concerts promoted the country’s 250th anniversary. During the concerts, the Maennerchor makes a cash donation to other organizations within the community such as the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department, The House of the Good Shepard, CABVI and many others over the years.

Please join us for the 5th annual Run the Fort Race! Participants may run or walk, with Run the East providing timing support for those interested in a timed competition. Run the Fort is an annual race at Fort Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach that supports the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain. The BGCCP is currently in a capital campaign for a new club building in Beaufort, and they need our help now more than ever. The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe place for kids to go after school and during the summer, offering them tutoring, hot meals, and a sense of community. Course Description: The Fort Macon trail is a multi-terrain trail that overlooks the ocean and takes you through the one-of-a-kind environment of the Crystal Coast. The terrain includes sand, boardwalk and dirt with dunes and hills through maritime forests. Although this trail is somewhat challenging to run due to the changing terrain and hills, it makes it all the more rewarding when you cross the finish line.

Please join us on November 28th, 2026, for the Seminole Chieftain Band's Hot Cocoa 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run. The run will begin and end at the Reynolds Wellness Center. The course meanders through Snowman Wonderland's Christmas light displays. It's a great way to get into the holiday spirit. This will be a glow run and glow gear is strongly encouraged. This is not a certified course and is not a chipped race. The race will be timed with RunSignUp's mobile app, so results will be visible online after the race. There will be a costume contest! Be sure to dress up and spread some holiday cheer. The costume contest winner will receive a basket filled with goodies donated by our band boosters. The 5K will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the fun run at 6:10 p.m. Register by November 21st to be guaranteed a t-shirt. All finishers will receive a medal. The 22nd annual Perry Wellington Turkey Trot Race consists of a rolling 5 mile run, 2.5 mile run and 2.5 mile walk. One of our most popular family events for locals and those visiting from out of town. **RACE DISTANCE CHANGES FOR 2025 5 mile (was 4.5m) & 2.5 mile (was 2m).** REGISTRATION: PLEASE REGISTER EARLY as t-shirts will be provided to the first 500 registered racers. Online registration closes at 11:00am on Friday, November 28. Racers must wear race number to show that you are a race participant. You will have a certain color bib pertaining to what race you are participating in. If you want to change races, you may do so by calling the Blair Regional YMCA at 695-4467 before race day. NO CHANGES ON RACE DAY! If you lose your bib or need a new one issued, for any reason, there will be a $5 fee assessed. For safety reasons, headsets of any kind and pets are not permitted. The 2 Mile Run/ walk and 2 Mile Ruck starts at 9:55 AM and it is a chip timed race. All participants receive a custom long sleeve race t ( Race T and size guaranteed to all registered by Nov 16th, 2026) and the first 200 finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Participants run on the service Rd. that parallels Jamestown Rd heading to a turn around on Landfall and back to the finish. Race Awards will be given to Top three male and female overall and top three male and female in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69,70-74, 75 and over. Top three male and female Ruck and Weighted Vest Finishers. All 8K and 2 Mile finishers receive a hot slice of pizza, other race refreshments and those of legal drinking age a complimentary Alewerks Beer. DJ Dreux provides after-race music and entertainment. All 8K and 2Mile participants are asked to donate 35 lbs. of non-perishable food for the Food Bank. Our goal this year is to donate 10.000 lbs of food. The Plano Pacers Turkey Runoff 5K/15K/Kid's 1K runs will be held Nov 28th at 8AM at Windhaven Meadows Pk. The Kid's K will start at about 9:30 after the 15K completes.
