The Care4 Breast Cancer 5K celebrates survivors, supports our breast cancer warriors and honors the loved ones we have lost too soon.  It is an inspiring and moving event that makes a huge impact in our community.  The Care4 5K raises critical funds to support Family Health Partnership Clinic in it's mission to provide health care services to the uninsured adults of McHenry County.  Specifically, the funds raised are pledged to breast cancer education, early diagnosis & detection, annual screenings and other women's health programs.  We know that early detection is key to survival and, with your help, we can give everyone the hope and support they need. This trail run is so special and so different from what you will experience in the city. Run through the hills and knobs of the Beautiful Forkland Community. Your registration includes your ticket to the Forkland Festival pancake breakfast and of course a T shirt. Then plan on spending some time at the festival enjoying the crafts and music. The run starts with a grueling quarter mile uphill trek followed by open meadows and woodland trails and finishing with a downhill run to the finish line. The unique handmade awards will be presented at the pancake breakfast in the shelter behind the Community Center. Once you've experienced this unique trail run you will want to return every year. If you're not into running, enjoy a walk through the countryside with friends. If you are a runner don't be disappointed if your times for this challenging 4K course are closer to what you would expect for a 5K on a more level course. The Run The Ridge 5K, 10K, and 25K Trail Run is a culturally and historically significant event as runners will be traveling some of the same dirt roads and beautiful overlooks that Father of Bluegrass Music, Bill Monroe, and his beloved Uncle Pen did. This will be a fun but challenging event with steep inclines and declines to navigate going up to the top of the Ridge and coming back down. The scenic course winds “high in the hills of ‘ol Kentucky,” as Monroe put it. The race will start and finish at the celebrated Bill Monroe Homeplace and will feature plenty of great bluegrass music, including live bluegrass on the course. Run the Ridge coincides with two other Bill Monroe Foundation events, “Pickin’ on the Porch” and “Camping and Jamming.”  A live bluegrass band will perform free-of-charge Saturday evening on the Homeplace porch.  Runners are encouraged to stay and enjoy the show.  Dinner at 5:00, music at 6:00.  Bluegrass pickers and enthusiasts will be camping throughout the week

You wont want to miss the 8th annual Brat Trot 5k through Terre Haute's historical brewing district hosted by Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church! The Brat Trot has 2 awesome 5k races (the beer challenge 5k and regular 5k) and a 1 mile fun run for you to choose from!                  The main event is the Beer Challenge where participants will run our 1 mile loop course through the brewing district. Sarcoma Stomp is being held in honor of Bo Arvin.  The mission is to carry on the characteristics which made him loved by so many.  We intend to preserve his memory of kindness, loyalty, humor, respect, faith and courage by bringing awareness to pediatric cancer as well as the underfunded research for treatment and a cure. The Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation will use 50% of our fundraising efforts to benefit the Children's Cancer Therapy Developmental Institute (CCTDI).  It also supports 2 scholarships at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School.

Stretch your running legs and support Grove Christian Outreach Center at the 5th annual Grove Trotter 5K/10K. The event will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 taking off from Chickahominy Riverfront Park. The run will start out going over the Chickahominy River Bridge, out on the Capital Trail and then back in to the park for a full 5K or 10K. The entire run will take place on the well maintained Capital Trail. This is a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event, and awards will be given for various age groups. The City of Salem, known as "Virginia's Championship City", has hosted numerous NCAA National Championships as well as many other national and international sports tournaments. In 2016, we decided to branch out and bring that "Championship" mentality to running! The races start and finish at the Salem Farmers Market in downtown Salem, VA and take you on a scenic tour of Salem through neighborhoods, Roanoke College, and the downtown business district. We have partnered with Blue Ridge Racing, the area's leading road race management organization to produce these events. Lick Skillet Farm hosts its fifth annual end-of-season fall fundraiser and farm celebration: rides at every level followed by a great party at the farm! Four totally new scenic back-road routes: 12-, 25-, & 40-mile options, a re-mapped metric century, AND a brand new 75 mile option. The twelve-miler is flat and family-friendly, with extra SAG, perfect for kids or anyone who wants an easy day on great roads. Experienced riders will find both the Metric Century and the 3/4 century to be enjoyably challenging.  The 4 longer rides start at 10am, with the 12 miler starting at 10:05am.  Parking, registration, and ride start are at New Market Elementary, 1559 Old A.J. Our annual Walk For Life 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. This is a timed race starting and finishing at Doodle Park in Pickens, SC. The race will be ran on a Certified Course. The 5K Run/Walk is family friendly for all ages and a great way to involve your family in supporting the sanctity of life! We are a pregnancy care center serving families in Pickens County and surrounding areas during and after pregnancy. We believe that life begins at conception and that salvation comes through belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All proceeds from this race will go directly to Hope Women's Center in supporting their ministry. The race will begin at 9:00AM.  Awards will be presented around 10:00am. Register by 9 p.m. Sun, Sept 20 for a guaranteed t-shirt on race day. The Race for the Golden Helix 5K (GH5K) is an annual 5 km (3.1 mile) open-road race around the beautiful campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. The GH5K is professionally timed.  All parking on the Tennessee Tech University campus is free and available to the public on the weekends. You will not be ticketed unless you park in a spot that is specifically reserved. The best parking for the race is behind the TN Tech STEM Center, along Stadium Drive, near the Laboratory Science Commons (LSC) and Stonecipher Auditorium. The race is organized by the Student Affiliates of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) with the assistance of the Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) and the Chem-Med Club. Join us on October 10th, 2026 for the Frackville Fright to benefit the Hillside SPCA of Pottsville. The Frackville Fright will begin and end at the Elks Lodge, Frackville. This will be a night run so bring your flashlights and glow sticks! The course will take you through the rolling streets of Frackville. There will be gentle inclines, some not so gentle inclines, with a downhill finish. This event is open to all ages and abilities. Walkers are welcome!
