The first donkey race in Idaho! 3, 6 & 9 mile burro race. Walkers and hikers are welcome. You must have your own donkey-no "rentals" will be available. The course will be run as an out and back along the Weiser River Trail following the Weiser River through canyons and open farm land on the old Pacific and Idaho Northern railroad corridor. There is very little elevation change on the course.  What is Burro Racing?  First, let's talk about what a burro is. “Burro” is the Spanish word for donkey. “Pack burro racing is a sport in Colorado, Arizona, California, and New Mexico that is rooted in the various western state's mining histories.[1] In the early days of the mining industry in Colorado, miners would take donkeys (burros in Spanish) through the mountains of Colorado while prospecting. Participants are bused approximately 6 miles east of Estacada to the North Fork Lake start. The Sandusky County Park District will be having a 5K and Youth Race on the PK 5K Trail named after local runner Pam Graver- Koenig located on the grounds of Creek Bend Farm- Wilson Nature Center 720 South Main Street, Lindsey, Ohio 43442.   All proceeds will be donated to the Sandusky County Park District. Join us on October 10th, 2026 for the Frackville Fright to benefit the Hillside SPCA of Pottsville. The Frackville Fright will begin and end at the Elks Lodge, Frackville. This will be a night run so bring your flashlights and glow sticks! The course will take you through the rolling streets of Frackville. There will be gentle inclines, some not so gentle inclines, with a downhill finish. This event is open to all ages and abilities. Walkers are welcome! The Race for the Golden Helix 5K (GH5K) is an annual 5 km (3.1 mile) open-road race around the beautiful campus of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. The GH5K is professionally timed.  All parking on the Tennessee Tech University campus is free and available to the public on the weekends. You will not be ticketed unless you park in a spot that is specifically reserved. The best parking for the race is behind the TN Tech STEM Center, along Stadium Drive, near the Laboratory Science Commons (LSC) and Stonecipher Auditorium.
