Come join us for one of our favorite fundraising events of the year!   The Timothy School is hosting our 8th annual 5K Family Fun Run & Walk on Sunday, October 4th, 2026 at Wilson Farm Park. The Timothy School is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating children with autism, ages 5-21. For almost 60 years, the approved private school has worked to meet student needs through utilizing a research-based instructional model and focusing on each student’s individual strengths and needs to increase their skills and build their independence.   This is a family friendly event for individuals of all ages and abilities. Who was SueB? A vivacious, intelligent woman who is missed dearly every day. February 9, 1955 – April 4, 2008Susan Elaine Brubaker Newby died in 2008 during a mysterious horseback riding incident. After her death, family, and friends realized that SueB – her nickname – was likely in an abusive marriage. SueB’s sister, Marj, and friends, Leslie and Teresa turned to the WCA as a way to honor SueB’s life and increase awareness about domestic violence. The Bryon Martini Jr. 5k Memorial Run/Walk is our way to remember Bryon and celebrate his life while giving back to the community. The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen. TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. It's so crazy to see this crazy little idea we had to have a small 5K turn into hundreds of people. Located just south of the Capital Beltway in Lorton, this beautiful race course includes a mixture of forested and open meadow singletrack meandering through 1600 acres of the former prison grounds. The race starts and ends under the old guard towers at the Workhouse Arts Center, which is the site of the former Lorton Reformatory.  The course is one of our least technical and most of it is on singletrack that is a mix of dirt and crushed stone.  The only short pavement sections are at the beginning and end of the race.  There are no extended climbs, but lots of short ups and downs. It takes a village! Glenroy Preserve is a beautiful outdoor playground that also happens to be rich in history. Some of the trails will take you through parts of the Underground Railroad, while even running past a tavern that was said to have served patrons during the Civil War. Each distance is a loop. The 10 mile and 25K distances will follow the same course but then split around mile 9. ALL distances offer plenty of hills, creek crossings, mixed terrain, and plenty of on-course support.  Start time is 8:00am for ALL distances. $5.00 for Non SFTC Members to run in the race. SFTC Members are FREE to run in the race. JPII Cross Country Meet

The Antelope Island Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.  All the distances are on Antelope Island. Antelope Island is home to 600 bison and the largest island on the Great Salt Lake. This course is a true marathon in that it is not all downhill like many. There are several rollers for the runners. The views of the race have the Great Salt Lake to the East and Antelope Island mountain on the West.
