2026 Mogadishu Mile 10K/5K/Fun Run (Ranger Memorial Triad)

El Paso, TX
On 3–4 Oct 1993 U.S. Army Rangers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, as part of Task Force Ranger, fast-roped into the city of Mogadishu, Somalia to capture key lieutenants of warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. What began as a short raid quickly escalated when Somali militia shot down two Black Hawk helicopters with RPGs. Rangers fought through intense urban combat, securing the target buildings, defending the crash sites, and protecting wounded comrades while surrounded by determined enemy forces throughout the night. Despite heavy casualties and relentless attacks, the Rangers held their ground until a relief column fought its way into the city, after which many Rangers ran under fire to reach the armored vehicles in what became known as the Mogadishu Mile. Their courage and sacrifice in one of the most intense urban battles in modern U.S. military history demonstrated the same warrior spirit that defines the Rangers today: RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! The Big Dam Bridge 100 is an annual event in central Arkansas that celebrates the "Big Dam Bridge" over the Arkansas River. The 4,226-foot bridge is the longest bridge built for pedestrian and bicycle traffic in North America. It connects over 40 miles of scenic riverside trails between Little Rock and North Little Rock. It also serves as the backbone for connecting over 70,000 acres of various city, county, state & federal parks. The BDB 100 offers several routes ranging between 15 and 105 miles, with beautiful mountain and river scenery, as well as a few challenging hills on the longer routes. Come join this youth event of triathlon hosted by National Fitness Center for kids ages 2-14! Register for a choice of 3 races: Long Sprint - 8:00 am start - 100 yard swim/3.0 mile bike/1 mile run Mid Sprint - 8:45 am start - 50 yard swm/1.5 mile bike/.5 mile run Tadpole Sprint - 9:20 am start - 25 yard swim/.75 mile bike/.5 mile run   Ages 2 to 14, can do any race based on distance and start time. For the tadpole sprint, the kids can watch the first race to get an example of how it's done. They are allowed to make use of water wings or a floatation device to help them "get their feet wet" in the sport of triathlon. The smaller kids may also use training wheels in the shorter distance. Finisher medal for each participant, age group awards for Long and Mid sprint. The swim will take place in the pool at the National Fitness Center in Oak Ridge at 750 Briarcliff Ave. The bike route will go out to Fairbanks road turn left, to Jefferson Middle School and turn around in the loop

Racin' the Station Duathlon

“Racin’ the Station” Duathlon is a non-sanctioned USAT Run/Bike/Run event where theparticipants will “race” the International Space Station (ISS) as it completes one Earthorbit—91 minutes & 12 seconds. Course Certified (VT13007JK) 10K out and back through Shelburne and Charlotte. This fast course is a mix of dirt and paved roads and has pleasant scenery - apple orchards, views along Lake Champlain, and the covered bridge at the turn around point. The start and finish is at Shelburne beach and proceeds along Bostwick, Orchard, and Lake roads. Sixth Annual A-7 Corsair II Memorial 5K Run/Walk (Virtual)

The first flight of the A-7 Corsair II took place 26 September 1965.  The airframe would go on to serve in every major conflict from Vietnam to Desert Storm. Utilized by the US Navy, US Air Force, US Air National Guard, Portuguese Air Force, Thai Air Force, and Hellenic Air Force, the Corsair II was finally retired from service in 2014.  To commemorate this aircraft's storied history and the sacrifice of those service members who flew and maintained the airframe throughout its 49 year history, the A-7 Corsair II Association (www.corsair2.us) is hosting its fifth annual virtual 5K run/walk.
