Welcome to the MCRRC Parks Half Marathon! The race begins just before sunrise, at 6:45 AM, on a scenic Montgomery County road and quickly transitions into a tour of beautiful Rock Creek Park. As you run through the park, you’ll experience the sun rising through the tree cover and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Mile markers help keep you on track, and we also have an excellent pace team ready to help you reach your goals. Come out and join us for our 28th Annual Harvest 5k-10k run/walk & Kids Miler. As the oldest race in the Plainfield, this event has averaged around 800 to 900 people each year and has been put on by the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the race each year are donated back out in the Plainfield and surrounding communities to non-profits and other organizations. Our family-friendly 1 mile run/walk and 5k race event is one of two flagship fundraising initiatives for the Lester PTA. Over 35% of our programming budget is generated by the Fun Run and all of its surrounding activities (Experiences, Raffles, Silent Auctions & More)! CONQUER THE NORTH GEORGIA MOUNTAINS SEPTEMBER 26-27TH 2026 Every September, taking place on Georgia's premier cycling routes, the Six Gap Century, Three Gap Fifty and Valley Ride. During the last weekend of September, two days of bicycling fun with a weekend-long expo and a day of cycling through the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. Thousands of cyclists will gather for the Six Gap Bike Expo. The following day, around 3,000 cyclists are expected to make the annual uphill pilgrimage in three non­competitive rides for the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty.

The Palisades Half Marathon and Trail Run are back for 2026! Early Bird registration for the Palisades Half is now open. Both races will take place on Sunday, September 27th. Join for a stunning 13.1 mile paved run over 1200 ft of elevation along the Palisades ridge, or experience the rugged cliffs with a shorter mixed-terrain through the rocky cliff.
