Half Marathon and 5K trail races located in Mountwood Park - 15 miles east of Parkersburg, WV on U.S. Route 50.  Take the Volcano Road exit and the main parking lot is about one half mile by the boat ramp.  The half marathon has a 4 hour time limit - any participant over 2 hours at the halfway point will be routed to the finish.  T-shirts guaranteed if registered by September 6.  Runners must be at least 15 years old to participate in the half marathon.  Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female in all races.  One age group award in all 3 races for the following age groups: Under 15 (5K only), 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

A huge shoutout to Jeff and Jeremy from The Ultra Running Guys. They organized 'The Final Countdown' in NC for 4 years. I reached out to them and they have allowed us to "steal" their idea! Bringing this fun and challenging race to WV!!!!   You are invited to this unique race experience that has something for everyone. From new runners to experienced ultra runners, the start will be a cinch. But the longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you. And all we ask is that you demand the most of yourself, holding off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.   The course is a 1.33 mile loop located on the property of Amani Brewery. Their grass path is taken care of and mowed all year round. It is a smooth, fast trail, with a small hill or two. Celebrate with us at our annual Tröegs Rugged Trail Run for Conservation! We are geared up for making this another successful fundraiser in support of the Ned Smith Center's lands and trails system. The Center boasts a beautiful woodland setting with over 9 miles of trails winding through 500+ acres of land, a scenic bridge over the Wiconisco Creek, a children’s natural play area, three rotating art galleries featuring the art of Ned Smith and various national and local artists, a gift shop, and innovative educational programming for all ages. The Center is thrilled to partner with Tröegs Brewing Company for this exciting event!  All proceeds will support the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art. Parkinson’s Steady Strides 5K Dedicated to the physical, mental, emotional and social needs of those living with Parkinson’s disease in the Greater Dayton/Cincinnati metroplex, Parkinson Support & Wellness exists to help those with PD learn about the disease, which empowers individuals to take control and make connections with local resources like support and exercise groups. Steady Strides, a timed 5K race and walk brings people together to raise funds for our mission to serve the local Parkinson community. I Love You" event honors Patrick Steurer, a 1997 graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and a dedicated member of the downtown Akron YMCA. An avid runner, Patrick completed his first half marathon in under two hours in 2013 and aimed to run his first full marathon in 2015. Unfortunately, he tragically passed away during a training run before achieving this goal. His father and board member emeritus, Dan Steurer, was involved in the YMCA for many years, including chairing the Jack-O-Lantern Jog 5K for two decades. Join the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, at Fort Indiantown Gap for the 15th annual March for the Fallen event on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Fort Indiantown Gap. This event is rain or shine! March for the Fallen is an event for the military and civilian communities to join annually in honoring the memory of all fallen service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our great nation. We are bringing this event back to its roots. The event races will be manually timed.  You will have from your event start time until 6:00pm to complete the course. The Swazi 5K is a popular event in its 18th year. People from all ages over central Oklahoma come to participate in a walk/run to raise funds for needed ministries in Eswatini, Africa (formally Swaziland) and in Bethany. Bethany First Church of the Nazarene is an active local church serving its community as well as the world in an effort to bring hope and healing to the nations through Christ.   Eswatini Partnership The Eswatini Partnership is a cooperative effort between the Eswatini Church of the Nazarene, Eswatini Nazarene Health Institutions, NCM Africa, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, and Southern Nazarene University. Our goal is to come alongside Eswatini in their efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, TB, noncommunicable diseases, and the domestic abuse of women and children.

We will be hosting the 16th annual “Half Marathon”, 10k, and 5k run/walk in recognition and remembrance of the nineteen brothers and one sister from its ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001.  The race course is located in Oklahoma City, OK, at the OKC river trail, to facilitate a larger participant population.  The twenty fallen heroes will be honored individually with recognition beginning at the Starting Line, then at each mile marker along the 13.1-mile course, and finally at the finish line.  A banner will be placed at each of the 15 points highlighting one of the warriors with a photo and a brief bio detailing their lives and sacrifices. *This is not a sanctioned race.*

What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! Join the Honey Brook Community Partnership to experience a 5K like no other! Set in the heart of the Lanchester Landfill & Reclamation Center, where nature and sustainability meet. This unique course offers a scenic and challenging run or walk through gravel roads, wooded trails, grassy paths, and segments of the Lanchester Nature Trail.   Starting at the facility entrance (elevation 875 ft), runners and walkers will navigate a series of steady climbs and enjoy peaceful stretches through reclaimed landscapes. Two major hills define the course:   First Climb: Elevation gain from 919 ft to 1,056 ft through wooded and grassy paths   Final Ascent to Eastern Overlook: Elevation gain from 1,020 ft to 1,156 ft on gravel roads, leading to panoramic views of the surrounding valley   After reaching the overlook, runners and walkers will double back and enjoy a fast, mostly downhill finish to the starting line. Staged out of Marsh Creek State Park, this race is located just west of Philadelphia, PA and minutes from the Turnpike. The time trial swim takes place in 500 acre Marsh Creek Lake and features a single loop, rectangular shaped swim course. The bike course is a beautiful, well paved, single loop 20k course that takes athletes through a mix of technical sections and long straightaways alongside trout streams and forests. The 5k run course is entirely within the park and has beautiful lake views and a good uphill at mile 1. Since 1984, the Reston Triathlon has been a staple in our community. It opens with a 1500-meter open water swim in Lake Audubon, followed by a 25-mile bike ride and a 10K run on local paths. The Olympic distance event has challenged athletes from around the country and has affectionately been called the Reston Triathlon World Championship. During the pandemic, the previous board worked tirelessly to keep the tradition alive. Unfortunately, in 2021, they announced they could no longer financially or logically sustain the Reston Triathlon. CORE Foundation, working closely with the previous board, is thrilled to revive the event and continue the legacy. The Reston Triathlon made its comeback debut on September 10, 2023! This year's race date is September 28, 2025. CORE Foundation is grateful for the loyal athletes and local community. Whitewater has always been known for its charm and ideal location, nestled within the forest, lakes, prairies, and hills of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in southeastern Wisconsin. The Discover Whitewater Series race was initiated by the Greater Whitewater Committee, Inc. in September 2013. Thanks to the continued support and growing interest, the annual Discover Whitewater Series has proven to be a great success year after year. In thirteen years, the Discover Whitewater Series has been able to distribute $314,881 to local charities in efforts to build a stronger community. This would not have been possible without all the participants and volunteers of the race!  2026 will again feature the retro racecourse with the Half-Marathon following the route used for the Whitewater ROTC Half Marathon back in the 80’s. Erie Duathlon in support of the Erie Cancer Wellness Center. The Erie Cancer Wellness Center seeks to support and comfort individuals and families who are facing the impact of cancer. The programs offered by ECWC are free of charge to anyone who is living with a cancer diagnosis, who is caring for someone with cancer, has a loved one with cancer or has experienced a cancer related loss.  ECWC welcomes all and strives to nurture and empower people living with cancer through their evidence-based healing classes, programs and services. Steelman Racing Endless Summer Swim will be held on September 20th, 2026, at the Tohickon Boat Launch at Nockamixon State Park. This is the third and final race of the Steelman Racing Open Water Swim Series, and is the perfect way to end your summer swimming season in a fun and challenging race environment. Swimmers will be taking the plunge and enjoying the calm, clear waters at Nockamixon State Park as they skim through the water in the1, 2 ,or 3 mile course options.  Awards are presented to the top overall male/female, top overall male/female/ co-ed relays, and three deep-in-age divisions from 13 – 80 years old.  After the race, all athletes will be treated to an awesome post-race party with tons of food and music.  This race has it all so don’t miss out on the Steelman Racing Endless Summer Swim.

The annual Raider Nation Triathlon - Aquabike - 5K run - 2 mile run/walk event is set for Sunday, September 21, 2025.  You can do it solo or as a team!  New this year...Aquabike (swim/bike) event! For solo participants there is a full and short sprint triathlon & Aquabike race option open to those ages 9 and up.  Relay options for the full and short sprint races as well. Don't forget the Kid's Triathlon for those ages 6-13 & a 100 yard Raider Dash for those 7 and under!!
