Miles 4 Madison is a 5K/1K Fun Run supported by Sterling Ranch CAB. Miles 4 Madison's goal is to provide educational and recreational opportunities for families with children with different abilities. The Race is for all capabilities, strollers, and pet-friendly! Race registrations done after 9/10 won't be guaranteed the selected shirt size.    After the success of previous years races, Miles for Madison provided scholarships for several Douglas County children to attend the week-long summer camp at Easter Seals Rocky Mountain Village as well as attend hippotherapy in Douglas County. We have been able to donate playground equipment to local schools and have hosted multiple sensory-friendly events in Sterling Ranch, including Sensory swim and, most recently, a sensory-friendly egg hunt. The race consists of three stages along, and in, the New River. The trail is flat with a crushed cinder surface, and the river flows smoothly with small rapids under normal conditions. The race begins with a 40-mile out and back bike leg, followed by a 12.1-mile downriver kayak paddle, and ends with a half marathon run along the river for a total of 65.2 miles. Although the race is long, it's perfect for beginners and accomplished athletes due to its flattish nature. Participants may compete solo or in teams of two or three. We ask that you thoroughly read the rules and guidelines (PDF) before the race. The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen. TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. This event, hosted by the Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF), honors the 40th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® founder Norma E. Boyd’s passing. Norma E. Boyd, born on August 9, 1888, was a native Washingtonian dedicated to educational and humanitarian pursuits for children throughout her 97 years of life. She was an incorporator and founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® and a charter member of the Xi Omega Chapter. Since 2013, the Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education has raised over $118,000, directly supporting PIEF's mission to provide college scholarships for District of Columbia high school students. 1Lt Mark Dooley Race of Remembrance is a 5k race/walk in honor of 1LT Mark Dooley's service to our country, state and community. This race is a community event sponsored by our local businesses and the Wilmington Police Department. The 2026 FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is run in honor of the late Special Agent, Jerry Dove, who was killed in the line of duty in Miami, Florida, on April 11, 1986.   Jerry was a native West Virginian, and prior to his FBI career, Jerry was attached to the West Virginia State Police as an attorney advisor.  The race is dedicated to the memory of SA Jerry Dove and all law enforcement, firefighters, military personnel, and others who were killed while serving in the line of duty.  The race is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association.   Final details of the race will be official at opening day of registration.  Changes may be made prior to opening day.

Bound for the Sound is 5k and 10k road race in Old Lyme, CT. Both courses start at popular Sound View Beach in Old Lyme, CT. The 10K is mostly flat with some gently rolling hills. The 5K is very flat and very fast. Both races finish down historic Hartford Avenue facing the beach. Post race food and drink is included in your race entry.  The 10K course is USATF certified (CT25015JHP) and will serve as the USATF-CT 10K State Championship for both 2025 and 2026, concluding the USATF-CT Road Grand Prix series. The Cavalier Homecoming 5k Run/Walk is an event for all ages and abilities! Join the Cavalier Community as we kick off Homecoming week with our traditional scenic 5K loop through Fair Mott Park and Dye Meadows.   Exciting additions for 2026: The Color Run: A fun-run style, shorter course perfect for those looking to get sprinkled in vibrant colors!   The Cavalier Combo: Can't decide? Join us Saturday, September 19th for the Mt A Trail Challenge! We're excited to have you join us at the summit of Mount Agamenticus for the 10th Annual Mt. A Trail Challenge! The 5K begins at 9 AM and the 1 Mile starts at 9:20 AM. Run, hike, roll or stroll through either our 1 Mile or 5K course. This challenge is timed the good ol’ fashioned way with stop watches, thanks to our local York Highschool Cross Country Team. There are no traditional age category prizes, but there will be a raffle for all participants! As always, all funds raised go right back into Mount A conservation & education efforts. The LMCU Bridge Run has been providing the community with a premier starting line to accomplish goals since 2002 and we invite you to join us in person or virtually to keep the tradition "running" (pun intended)! Whether you pick the 10 Mile Run or 5K Run/Walk, be assured you will have a great race day experience running through downtown Grand Rapids and of course, crossing the many bridges in the city. The 2026 Bridge Run will take place on SUNDAY, September 20 and will be located on the west side of the 6th Street Bridge (use 731 Front Ave NW, Grand Rapids, 49504 in your GPS for our physical location). The historic 6th Street bridge is an icon and a favorite of our event participants. Both the 5K and 10 Mile routes will still go through downtown Grand Rapids (over a bonus bridge), with the 10 Mile still heading out through Riverside Park.
