Devil After Dark

Las Vegas, NV
Over the years, one of my favorite times at our Running with the Devil extreme heat race in late June is when the sun sets, and the night air just beckons you to be outside and run! Devil After Dark brings you that magic with a late summer evening run. Commencing just before sunset, run through Lovell Canyon while enjoying the stunning sunset as day falls into night. Sun is replaced by stars and moonlight lights the way. The omnipresence of the surrounding canyon under the moonlit starry night is magical! Pinion Juniper trees dance in the shadows and the neon lights of Las Vegas are just minutes away. An enchanted late summer evening run. *This event is held on the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, under a special use permit.

The goal is 3 O’s in a row but there will be other ways to win as well.   The Rules:  Each runner will compete in a game of skill or chance at the completion of each lap. For example: the runner will roll a 6 sided die that has an equal # of X's and O's.  If the player rolls a O, then the player gets to decide where an O is placed on their tic-tac-toe bib.  If a player rolls a X, the worker puts an x on the tic-tac-toe bib. course is always x, player is always O. Yes, they will be instructed to block you and no amount of begging on your part will dissuade them.  Second loop for examp

23nd Annual Groom Creek Classic: 1/2 Marathon, 10k, 5k Run

Prescott, AZ
One of the most scenic and challenging 1/2 marathon and 10k courses in Arizona! This challenging course is located in the scenic and cool Ponderosa Pine forest of Groom Creek just 5 miles South of Prescott. The 5k and fun run courses stay on smooth pavement with rolling hills. The 10k and 1/2 marathon courses begin and end on pavement, but also wind through the forest on smooth, wide dirt forest roads.   Race is limited to 100 half marathon spots, 60 10k spots, and 100 5k spots.  Don't wait!We will have a cupless course.  This means that we will not have paper or plastic cups at the water stations on the course.  This is in an effort to reduce litter in our forest, and reduce the one-time use of paper and plastic cups.  All runners will be given a reusable and foldable hydration bottle at registration.  Alternatively, you can wear any hydration pack that works for you!  We WILL offer cups at the start/finish line stations.  There WILL be water stations throughout the course where
