The 2026 FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is run in honor of the late Special Agent, Jerry Dove, who was killed in the line of duty in Miami, Florida, on April 11, 1986.   Jerry was a native West Virginian, and prior to his FBI career, Jerry was attached to the West Virginia State Police as an attorney advisor.  The race is dedicated to the memory of SA Jerry Dove and all law enforcement, firefighters, military personnel, and others who were killed while serving in the line of duty.  The race is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association.   Final details of the race will be official at opening day of registration.  Changes may be made prior to opening day.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen. TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. Miles for Migraine will host its 8th annual 2-mile Walk, 5K Run and Relax Vermont Event at Veterans Memorial Park. This event is a fundraiser for Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research. The race consists of three stages along, and in, the New River. The trail is flat with a crushed cinder surface, and the river flows smoothly with small rapids under normal conditions. The race begins with a 40-mile out and back bike leg, followed by a 12.1-mile downriver kayak paddle, and ends with a half marathon run along the river for a total of 65.2 miles. Although the race is long, it's perfect for beginners and accomplished athletes due to its flattish nature. Participants may compete solo or in teams of two or three. We ask that you thoroughly read the rules and guidelines (PDF) before the race. They cover stage meeting times, transitions, requirements, courses, water and aid stations, and recommendations to make your race as trouble-free as possible. Bound for the Sound is 5k and 10k road race in Old Lyme, CT. Both courses start at popular Sound View Beach in Old Lyme, CT. The 10K is mostly flat with some gently rolling hills. The 5K is very flat and very fast. Both races finish down historic Hartford Avenue facing the beach. Post race food and drink is included in your race entry.  The 10K course is USATF certified (CT25015JHP) and will serve as the USATF-CT 10K State Championship for both 2025 and 2026, concluding the USATF-CT Road Grand Prix series. While Amblebrook is served by the regional 911 system—including Adams Regional Emergency Medical Services (AREMS), the Gettysburg Fire Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police—the large coverage areas for these services can sometimes lead to longer response times. NEAR was created to help bridge that gap. When you dial 911, NEAR is dispatched at the same time as the ambulance. As a Pennsylvania EMS-certified Quick Response Service (QRS), NEAR volunteers are often able to arrive quickly to provide critical care until professional emergency responders arrive. "Hyatt's Run With the Angels" 5K course is a beautiful 3.1 mile out and back course at the base of the Laurel Mountains set at Pine Springs Camp in Somerset County, PA.   This Annual Event is being hosted by the "Hyatt's Angels" Foundation, and all net proceeds will go to help provide need based financial and emotional assistance to families who have suffered the loss of a child.  Early registration runs through 11:59 pm on Monday, August 23rd, and includes a FREE RACE TEE.  Late registration is from August 24th through 11:59 pm on September 18th.  Race Day registration will be from 7:30 am to 8:30 am on Race Day, Saturday, September 19th.  No shirt guarantee for late or race day registrations. Miles 4 Madison is a 5K/1K Fun Run supported by Sterling Ranch CAB. Miles 4 Madison's goal is to provide educational and recreational opportunities for families with children with different abilities. The Race is for all capabilities, strollers, and pet-friendly! This event, hosted by the Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF), honors the 40th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® founder Norma E. Boyd’s passing. Norma E. Boyd, born on August 9, 1888, was a native Washingtonian dedicated to educational and humanitarian pursuits for children throughout her 97 years of life. She was an incorporator and founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® and a charter member of the Xi Omega Chapter. Since 2013, the Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education has raised over $118,000, directly supporting PIEF's mission to provide college scholarships for District of Columbia high school students. Join the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, at Fort Indiantown Gap for the 15th annual March for the Fallen event on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Fort Indiantown Gap. This event is rain or shine! March for the Fallen is an event for the military and civilian communities to join annually in honoring the memory of all fallen service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our great nation. We are bringing this event back to its roots. The event races will be manually timed.  You will have from your event start time until 6:00pm to complete the course. Awards will be provided to individual race winners by the Training Site.  ​​The events are the 28- and 14-mile heavy or light marches, 5k run/walk, a 28-mile hand cycle and a virtual 5k run/walk. Join the Honey Brook Community Partnership to experience a 5K like no other! Set in the heart of the Lanchester Landfill & Reclamation Center, where nature and sustainability meet. This unique course offers a scenic and challenging run or walk through gravel roads, wooded trails, grassy paths, and segments of the Lanchester Nature Trail.   Starting at the facility entrance (elevation 875 ft), runners and walkers will navigate a series of steady climbs and enjoy peaceful stretches through reclaimed landscapes. Two major hills define the course:   First Climb: Elevation gain from 919 ft to 1,056 ft through wooded and grassy paths   Final Ascent to Eastern Overlook: Elevation gain from 1,020 ft to 1,156 ft on gravel roads, leading to panoramic views of the surrounding valley   After reaching the overlook, runners and walkers will double back and enjoy a fast, mostly downhill finish to the starting line. Half Marathon and 5K trail races located in Mountwood Park - 15 miles east of Parkersburg, WV on U.S. Route 50.  Take the Volcano Road exit and the main parking lot is about one half mile by the boat ramp.  The half marathon has a 4 hour time limit - any participant over 2 hours at the halfway point will be routed to the finish.  T-shirts guaranteed if registered by September 6.  Runners must be at least 15 years old to participate in the half marathon.  Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female in all races.  One age group award in all 3 races for the following age groups: Under 15 (5K only), 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

A huge shoutout to Jeff and Jeremy from The Ultra Running Guys. They organized 'The Final Countdown' in NC for 4 years. I reached out to them and they have allowed us to "steal" their idea! Bringing this fun and challenging race to WV!!!!   You are invited to this unique race experience that has something for everyone. From new runners to experienced ultra runners, the start will be a cinch. But the longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you. And all we ask is that you demand the most of yourself, holding off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.   The course is a 1.33 mile loop located on the property of Amani Brewery. Their grass path is taken care of and mowed all year round. It is a smooth, fast trail, with a small hill or two. We will be hosting the 16th annual “Half Marathon”, 10k, and 5k run/walk in recognition and remembrance of the nineteen brothers and one sister from its ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001.  The race course is located in Oklahoma City, OK, at the OKC river trail, to facilitate a larger participant population.  The twenty fallen heroes will be honored individually with recognition beginning at the Starting Line, then at each mile marker along the 13.1-mile course, and finally at the finish line.  A banner will be placed at each of the 15 points highlighting one of the warriors with a photo and a brief bio detailing their lives and sacrifices. *This is not a sanctioned race.*

The Swazi 5K is a popular event in its 18th year. People from all ages over central Oklahoma come to participate in a walk/run to raise funds for needed ministries in Eswatini, Africa (formally Swaziland) and in Bethany. Bethany First Church of the Nazarene is an active local church serving its community as well as the world in an effort to bring hope and healing to the nations through Christ.   Eswatini Partnership The Eswatini Partnership is a cooperative effort between the Eswatini Church of the Nazarene, Eswatini Nazarene Health Institutions, NCM Africa, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, and Southern Nazarene University. Our goal is to come alongside Eswatini in their efforts to combat HIV/AIDS, TB, noncommunicable diseases, and the domestic abuse of women and children.

What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. I Love You" event honors Patrick Steurer, a 1997 graduate of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and a dedicated member of the downtown Akron YMCA. An avid runner, Patrick completed his first half marathon in under two hours in 2013 and aimed to run his first full marathon in 2015. Unfortunately, he tragically passed away during a training run before achieving this goal. His father and board member emeritus, Dan Steurer, was involved in the YMCA for many years, including chairing the Jack-O-Lantern Jog 5K for two decades.
