The task of locating and paying for childcare, on top of a sick parent in the home, results in extreme stress for families facing a cancer diagnosis and treatment.  Bailey’s Clubhouse evolved out of our founder’s personal experiences while taking his wife to her cancer treatment appointments. With a strong personal support system, he had a long list of family and friends available to watch their children during his wife’s appointments and treatments. However, he quickly observed that many cancer patients did not have this same level of support and patients often struggled to find childcare during treatments. The Hammond Rotary's Charity Shamrock Run, will offer runners an opportunity to run the 1-mile and 5K/10K. This year's course will be at the Renaissance Festival grounds in Hammond, Louisiana (46468 River Rd, Hammond, LA 70401). St. Patrick's Day celebrations are perfect opportunities to dress up like a crazy Leprechaun and hit the streets running. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the 6th Annual Leprechaun Chase and Leprechaun Leap on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This event includes a 5-mile run and a 1-mile run/walk. This 5K Run/Walk is to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.  Team Lakewood, which is comprised of residents and staff of the Lakewood Retirement Community is the top fundraiser in the history of Richmond's Walk to End Alzheimer's.  In 2024 we ranked 34th nationwide in the event, which had over 55,000 teams.  We hope to raise over $65,000 this year to support this organization, which supports persons living with Alzheimer's, their caregivers and research.  You can help find a cure by participating in our third annual Lakewood/Alzheimer's 5K! 100% of the net profit from this race will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.
