The 8th annual Aaron Butler Memorial Purple Heart Run (ABMPHR) will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at Eagle Island State Park and surrounding trail system. HALF MARATHON:The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. (Wheelchair division 7:50 a.m.) in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA WV State Championship. The rolling course will take you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. The Sun Prairie Community 5K is an annual event, this year, held at Token Springs Elementary in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, featuring a 5K race and a 1-mile fun run. The race course follows an out and back route along the bike paths in The Reserve neighborhood, offering participants a fun experience. Proceeds from the event support the Sun Prairie West Cross Country Team, funding college scholarships, awards, uniforms, supplies, and transportation to practices and competitions.

Tri 4 Schools is a part of Active Youth Wisconsin, a nonprofit committed to empowering kids to be happy, healthy, and confident through movement. To support our mission, we donate 100% of youth entry fees to the participants' schools.  We offer 4 in-person course distances for this race. While there are recommended ages listed below, please select the course that best matches your child’s ability and interest, regardless of age. Note that the Long Course is only open to athletes age 7 and older. If your athlete uses a bike with training wheels, they must be registered for the Short Course. Join us Saturday, August 15 for the 7th annual New Glarus Wood Trail Run! We are part of the Savanna Trail Run Series. Proceeds from this event go to the Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park. We aim to host a top notch trail run that highlights our park. Stick around after the race for lunch, awards and other activities! It’s an event that supports youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for children, adults, and families in our community. This will be a sprint triathlon, and is a timed event. The FCA "Stay the Course" 5K & 1-Mile takes place on Saturday, August 15th, 2026. The event takes place at First Christian Church in Salem.  The address is:  1151 E. 6th Street, Salem, Ohio 44460. The 1-Mile begins at 8:15am and the 5K begins at 8:30am.   Registration includes a commemorative finisher medal, participant shirt and chip-timed bib number. It's Back! The Slam the Dam 10K is back!  As most of you know, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure were devastated by Hurricane Helene in 2024.While the area is slowly recovering, the Lake Lure Olympiad Committee is pleased to be able to bring back both the Slam the Dam 10K as well as the Race to the Rock 5K, as part of their "Race for Recovery" weekend. Unfortunately, the Lake Lure Triathlon will have to wait another year as the lake is still not up to proper standards for safe swimming. NOTE:  This is a difficult course with lots of elevation changes.
