Registration and course start will be on the track.  After one loop on the track, we will run 1/2 mile on quiet dead end streets on the school campus, before moving into the trails (mix of single- and  double track). We will exit the trails onto grass running surfaces, before crossing a picturesque bridge and finishing at the 50-yard line on the track.     Thank you to the Town of Stonington Parks & Recreation Department for co-hosting!

On Wednesday, August 5 the Run for the Sun 5k will return to Kollen Park in downtown Holland, beside the beautiful Lake Macatawa.  Here are a few details about the event:  Race Location: Kollen Park, 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland MI, 49423 Parking: Limited parking is available on the east end of Kollen Park where the race begins. There is also street parking nearby with a short walk to the park, or in the west area of Kollen Park, near the boat launch area.  Packet Pick-Up: Bib pickup begins at 4:30pm until race time, adjacent to the starting line in the east end of Kollen Park (near the playground area)! Runners who reserved a t-shirt size by the deadline will be able to pick up their shirts! Nearly 500 runners and walkers joined us last year, and after three years of tinkering, we finally cracked the code: same course, same start and finish, and the same post-race reward — a cold Common Roots beer. Founded in 1979, the Eldorado Run for the Cure is the longest operating charitable footrace in the State of Colorado. All proceeds from the annual four-mile run benefit the Colorado Cancer Foundation's life saving work, from funding oncology research at the University of Colorado's (CU) Division of Medical Oncology to aiding patients at the CU Hospital in Aurora, CO. Each year, the run has developed and grown, and in 2023 a new course was introduced, routing participants along the scenic South Boulder Creek, which winds through the high cliff walls of historic Eldorado Canyon.

Come join us for the 32nd Annual 5k Run to Educate on August 7, 2026. The race begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Bellefontaine High School Track. When the LCEF Run To Educate committee was organizing the event as a fundraiser for the foundation, the topic of awards came up. It was discussed that a popular distance for a run is 5K or about 3.1 miles. In mathematics, Pi is a mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter. It is approximately equal to 3.14159 in the usual decimal notation. The committee thought it would be a great tie in to link a mathematical term to an event sponsored by an educational foundation. So that is why every year pies are awarded to the top male and female finisher. Kids Triathlon for ages 3 to 15. This sprint style triathlon is great for beginners and avid competitors. The Kids Tri is untimed but we will have a big clock running for parents to watch and time for themselves. Open to all youth and free to Richland County youth.

Light up the night on this exciting 2.25-mile course around Hamilton Park! This fun, non-competitive event kicks off at sundown, so grab your light-up running gear or any glow items you can find. Participants will receive a t-shirt with their entrance fee.  Come early to enjoy pre-event activities, including games, a photo op, glow body paint, and music. Don’t miss this glowing good time!

The ninth annual BENefit Mile will take place on Friday, August 7, 2025 in Plainfield, Indiana at 7:00 p.m.. This net downhill race will begin on Buchanan Street and finish in downtown Plainfield near the Plainfield Friends Meeting off of East Street. This event features a unique opportunity for seasoned runners to tackle a fast, shorter race than the typical road run, and will also appeal to those just starting out with running (walkers are also encouraged to participate)! The BENefit Mile will separate into corrals based on estimated finish times. Stick around after the races for post-race festivities! 2026 T-Shirt Reveal Coming Soon!!!  Grady’s Superhero Run, is a family-friendly 5k and kid’s fun run plus new this year virtual run option.  The in person run will be followed with a bounce house, kids’ games, prize giveaways and a DJ. The in-person event will be hosted in Dorchester, IA in the Knotty Marie's yard, where entertainment and a light meal will be served (free will donation).  Location: Dorchester IA, starting in front of Knotty Marie's on Waterloo Creek Dr.  The fun run will head west on Waterloo Creek Drive approximately 1.5 miles and loop back to the starting spot. Purpose: This is a memorial run for Grady Lundgren-Hammel.  Grady was an ambitious, loving, energetic boy.  He loved agriculture, he loved Dorchester.  Grady was diagnosed with a rare NUT Protein Carcinoma and fought hard with the help of his family and community for 13 courageous months.
