The first year of the World Championship Pack Burro Race in 1949 saw 21 entrants with only 8 finishing the race. These days there are nearly 100 racers and burros that take on this historic challenge. Some choose the “lower altitude” short course of approximately 12.3 miles while others take on the long course and attempt the grueling climb to the top of Mosquito Pass and back, 29+ miles and an elevation change of 3,232'! The racers start at 9,953 feet in Fairplay with long course runners hitting their halfway point at the top of Mosquito Pass, elevation 13,185'! This festival was formerly know as The Pig Gig.  After the previous promoter retired 11 years ago we decided to bring it back in 2022.  We are bringing the 5K run/ walk back!  Last year we had a great turn out for our 2nd year of bringing back the race after several people asking.  Race participants will receive a day pass to enjoy the festival for the entire day (only valid Sunday July 27, 2025). Entry to the race you will get a t shirt &  a day pass to the festival the day of the event, which there will be a concert that evening and local bands in the beverage tent.   Medals will be given out to the top 2 in each age division for runners & top 2 overall in walkers.

The Mini Mountain Challenge goes down this July 26, 2026 at Sunday River. Five hundred of the toughest and gnarliest kiddos from ages 4-12 take to the mountain obstacle course. The Mini Mountain Challenge is a scaled-down version of the Tough Mountain Challenge designed for kids ages 4 to 12 that's all about having fun and getting dirty. Kids can expect a short course that includes uphill and downhill running, dirt, mud, fun obstacles, snow guns, ball pits, foam finishes and even a few of the adult obstacles. Mini Mountain is organized into heats broken down by age group. Course length and obstacles will vary by these age group, and everything is located in the same venue as the full Tough Mountain event.

Millersburg Food Run 10K, 5K & 1 mile Ready, set, go! The Millersburg Food Run is scheduled for Sunday, July 26th at 8:00 am! The Millersburg Food Run 10K, 5K & 1-mile is the Millersburg Seventh-day Adventist Church’s contribution to help meet the needs of some Holmes County families.  The profit from the race will be donated to the Love Center Food Pantry. The Love Center Food Pantry has been servicing the needs of Holmes County since 1986.  Nearly 1000 families utilize the food pantry and it has processed over 660,000 lbs of food a year.  This Christian ministry is supported by businesses and congregations throughout Holmes County. The 39th Annual The Ben to The Shore Bike Tour on Sunday, July 26th, 2026 is a charity bike ride that raises money to provide necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders and cultivate positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve. There are 3 route options available: the full 65-mile route from Philadelphia to Atlantic City; the 30-mile route from Hammonton, NJ to Atlantic City; and the 10-mile route from Galloway, NJ to Atlantic City.  Upon arrival at the finish line at the Showboat Hotel, riders are greeted by friends and family, volunteers and supporters where we celebrate their amazing physical accomplishment and raise additional funds at our legendary after party.

The Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon is located approximately 2 miles off Route 5 near West Hill Golf Course at the Intersection of Ike Dixon Road between Sand Road and Gillie Brook Road.  The swim is 1/2 mile (2 loops) in a natural, spring fed Gillie Lake, a relatively flat 15 mile bike course and a spectator friendly 5k run to round out the course.  This is a great event for all women - first time racers, seasoned triathletes and relay teams.  Come join the 13th Annual Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon, it's a spectator friendly course, and family atmosphere. The 2024 edition will include the sprint triathlon (individual and relay) and Aquabike (swim, bike). This race category is popular with those not ready to run the 5k stance for whatever reason. The 2026 Run With The Deer Flies 25K, 15K, and 8K will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026.  Three distances to choose from, including the 8K that was added last year.  This proved to be a popular addition for new trail runners as well as those who would like a shorter distance.   We are looking forward to returning to Camp Seph Mack near Penn Run, PA and hope to see you there.  The Deer Fly is directed by trail runners for trail runners. The Deer Fly is a fun and challenging trail race with a mix of single-track trails, pipeline roads, swamps, hills, and creek crossings.  Aid stations approximately every four miles, but carrying water is strongly recommended.  Post-race Bona's Pizza compliments of Steve Pagano. What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk?The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! Welcome to the beautiful lakeside community of Findley Lake, NY.   Just off of I-86, two hours south of Buffalo, NY,  and 20 minutes from Erie, PA.  Challenging and beautiful! No cut-off times.    Sprint & Olympic Triathlon & AquaBike:   SPRINT participants will begin with a 750m swim in the gorgeous Findley Lake. Then ride a hilly 14.44 mile bike course followed by a 5K run on the flat and fast roadway hugging the shore line of the lake.   The OLYMPIC participants will complete 2 loops of the swim and bike course. The Al Mackler Cancer Foundation contributes to pediatric cancer research projects at St. Jude's Children Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, and Hadassah Hospital in Israel.  The Foundation contributes all proceeds from each years race to pediatric cancer research at the various hospitals.   Registration on Race Day,  begins at 6:30 am, until 7:25 am.  The cost to register on race day is $40.00.  Race medallion to all race finishers The 2026 Race will be held on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.  Every participant and sponsor will receive our 2026 commemorative T-Shirt.  So make sure we have your correct t-shirt size.

This destination race offers athletes of all levels a scenic and challenging course in the heart of Florida’s historic coast. For more than two centuries, Vilano Beach has been the beach that locals go to. It’s a choice spot north of St. Augustine popular for its casual atmosphere, quiet ambiance, and natural surroundings. To get to Vilano Beach, you must take the scenic route. And by that, we mean coastal AIA, a designated All-American Road. This Byway supports a variety of wildlife including birds, the gopher tortoise, and endangered species. This destination race will be hosted at Vilano Beach and will include an Olympic distance Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike as well as the Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Duathlon. The Last Best Ride is a gravel race (or ride to some) originated in the Summer of 2021 where local professional cyclists Jess Cerra and Sam Boardman dreamed of creating a local Montana gravel race where the big sky's of Montana were showcased while featuring some of the best gravel riding in the lower 48.  The Last Best Ride is now in its sixth edition and we are excited that it will be lead under the new race director Brian Grubb.  Brian is a cyclist, father, lawyer, local Whitefish community member and enthusiast who is bringing a new vision to TLBR. Brian and his board are all local to Whitefish and looking to create a weekend filled with friendship, community support, a little bit of suffering and lots of celebration.  In it's sixth year the race will continue to be the only supporter of the Barbara Mansfield Champion Scholar Award
