Join the Howard County Striders for one of their prestigious training programs! 10K Goal Race will be the Columbia Classic 10K race on the first Sunday in October The Next Step Building to 10K Program is for runners of varying abilities. Participants will do a 2 mile time trial July 23 at Longfellow Elementary at 6pm so coordinators can group participants with those of similar abilities.  Weekly training runs will involve a variety of running techniques including speed work and hill work to improve running performance.   All runners should be able to run 3 miles before starting the program.

The Lake T Sprint Series has been the first race for many Iron Distance Triathletes. In its 25th year, this race continues to be the stepping stone for so many triathletes to get to the next level. High Mountain Half Marathon Decade Anniversary 2026

The High Mountain Half marathon is the perfect fall race to escape the high temps of the lower elevations and plan a cool, relaxing destination race vacation. It is also a great training race for a fall marathon. The half marathon course is a point to point race where runners will be bused from Blue Ridge High School starting at 4:40 am for a cool, crisp 6:00 am start time. Headwaters Relay 2026

The Headwaters Relay is a 3 day, team run, team-supported, adventure race that goes through the backcountry of Montana. There are no aid stations. The exchange points are not marked and are found by following written leg descriptions. Legs very in difficulty and terrain, and range from 1 to 6 miles. Each day has a definitive start and end point, and overall team time is a compilation of cumulative time from all legs. Runners do not run through the night. Every team runner must run a minimum of one leg per day. ​ Due to Forest Service permits, we are limited to a field of 26 teams, with preference given to teams that ran the previous year. Youth & Juniors from around the country will battle head-to-head for National Championship bragging rights, and our goal is to create a memorable experience for all involved. The calm waters of Voice of America Park should provide some fast swim splits. St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic 5K

The annual St. Jerome Picnic 5K in Fancy Farm is widely known as the "Best Little Race Around".  Our course is a challenging out and back including a long hill just after the turnaround.  We offer many water stations as well as fresh fruit and cold sports drinks.  You will have hundreds of folks cheering you on for the first and last mile of the race.  All pre-registered runner are guaranteed a 5K T-shirt.  T-shirts will be offered to late registrants as long as they are available.  NOTE:  Hwy 339 North of Fancy Farm will be closed from 5:45 until nearly 7PM due to the St. Jerome One Mile Classic that utilizes that stretch of road.  You will have to come in to Fancy Farm via Hwy 80 either from Mayfield or Carlisle County if 339 North is your normal route into Fancy Farm. Long Bridge Swim

The Long Bridge Swim is the Northwest's Premier open water swimming event!  A beautiful 1.76 mile swim from the south end of Sandpoint's historic Long Bridge to the North end.  Founded by local swimming enthusiast Eric Ridgway in 1995, the Long Bridge Swim has grown from the first group of 78 friends swimming across Lake Pend O'Reille to 705 swimmers in 2024.  The Long Bridge Swim is always held the first Saturday in August.  Spectators can easily watch their swimmers progress as they make their way across Lake Pend O'Reille. Since 2010, the Long Bridge Swim has raised funds to support swim lessons for children and adults in the greater Sandpoint Area.  We want everyone to be able to safely enjoy our beautiful Lake Pend O'Reille!
