The 2026 Louisiana Watermelon Festival 5k event offers a great challenge to local runners and walkers. This course is a fast first mile downhill followed by what we like to affectionately call Watermelon Mountain at mile 2. This year, proceeds from the event will go to Willpower Foundation, Inc. This is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers in Northeast Louisiana that host events to race money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Nordic fest is an annual 3-day summer festival held in Decorah, Iowa that celebrates community and the area’s Scandinavian heritage.  Started in 1967, Nordic fest is organized by a board of volunteers and offers food, activities and entertainment for the whole family.  The Elveløpet is held on the Saturday morning of Nordic Fest weekend.  Hailed as Decorah’s “river run” race course along the Upper Iowa river and surrounding area.  This family fun event highlights the natural beauty that Decorah has to offer.

This is the 19th year for the United Way of McPherson County Triathlon, held at McPherson Water Park and Lakeside Park in McPherson, Kansas.  Nicknamed by one racer as "The Fastest Short Course in Kansas," the United Way Triathlon starts with a 200-meter swim, followed by a 7-mile bike and finishing with a 2-mile run.   There is also a Junior Triathlon for youth with a 100-meter swim, 1 mile bike, and 1-mile run.    Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26th, 2026.

The flowy, fast, and fun trails at Schaeffer Farms are wonderfully maintained and offer twisty single-track, stream crossings, log ramps, a few hills, and open farm field running. Moderately technical with some rocky and rooty sections, these race courses begin and end at the beautiful Button Farm Living History Center off Black Rock Road. The Great Jones County 5K Fair Race – “Race Around the Fair”Get ready to run, explore, and celebrate! The Great Jones County 5K Fair Race, held in collaboration with Monticello Parks and Recreation, offers a one-of-a-kind route that winds around the fairgrounds, past the livestock barns, and along the track, giving runners an early morning's taste of fair excitement. The course continues past the scenic Monticello Golf Course and through Riverside Gardens, showcasing some of the area's most beautiful outdoor spaces. We intend to have a chalked line throughout the course to provide a continuous course with more signs. The Shepherd’s House is hosting the 27th Annual Run for Recovery 5K and Fun Walk.  We are EXCITED to be BACK AT KEENELAND again in 2026 offering a live event.  Again this year a VIRTUAL Run/Walk option will be available for those who prefer to participate remotely and still support the Shepherd's House.  The Shepherd’s House operates several Recovery Treatment Programs throughout Central Kentucky ranging from In-Patient, Intensive Out-Patient, Recovery Housing, Community Impact, Recovery Community Center, and Jail Substance Abuse Programs.  All of our programs are highly structured programs that promote personal responsibility, accountability, and life skills to successfully live in recovery.    This fundraising event is a celebration of recovery and attracts both serious and recreational runners, walkers, and dogs.  This event has something for everyone. The Milbridge Days 5K and Fun Run return for the annual Milbridge Days Celebration in beautiful Downeast Maine. This 3.1-mile wheel-measured course starts on the corner of Fickett's Point Road and Bay View Road. It is an out-and-back trip down Fickett's Point Road overlooking Narraguagas Bay. The Kid's Fun Run is one mile—1/2 mile up Fickett’s Point Road and back. Bold Coast Runners time the race.  All the funds raised will go to Incredible Edible Milbridge, a program of Women for Healthy Rural Living (WHRL). WHRL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2004. Their most extensive program, Incredible Edible Milbridge, nourishes their community by growing organic vegetables in free pick-your-own gardens and educational workshops. Produce can be harvested from the small, raised beds around town, in the garden next to the Red Barn Motel, or at Milbridge Commons Wellness Park. The Chesapeake Bay Paddle benefits the Chesapeake Conservancy’s efforts to designate the Chesapeake Bay as a National Park, WaterKeepers Chesapeake to help keep the waters and rivers of the Bay healthy and Oyster Recovery Partnership’s work to plant 10 billion oysters in the Bay. 100% of the race registration amount is tax deductible as a charitable donation. We are happily bringing back a kids Triathlon to our beautiful City. We have two distances, Short and long.  Short-100 M swim3K bike1K run Long-200 M Swim4.5K bike2K run The swim will be in the Spokane River and the athletes will have the option to swim along the shore and can touch, if they choose to. They are also allowed to wear flotation devices.

First Responders "Bring in the Backup" Triathlon represents all branches of the Military, Firefighters, Nurses, EMS, Dispatchers, Corrections, and Law Enforcement. The First Responders will lead off the race, followed by all other race participants as 'backup' to support the First Responders.
