Dashing in the Dark

Canton, GA
Light up the night at the Dashing in the Dark 5K, an electrifying evening run that brings energy, excitement, and a touch of mystery to every mile. We will be running through Etowah River Park in Canton, GA. All participants will earn a custom finisher medal, shining just as brightly as the racers themselves. We’ll also present awards in the usual 5-year age groups starting at 10 & Under, celebrating fast feet across every division. Squirrel 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Boone, NC (09)

Boone, NC
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.

Liberation and Freedom Days Reparations Run/Walk

Charlottesville, VA
The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center and Prolyfyck Run Crew are partnering to present the annual Liberation + Freedom Day Run/Walk. We are raising funds to support organizations with Black leadership that support the community directly. The near 8 mile run and 4 mile walk allows you to engage with some of the City’s important sites of African American history, while passing some of the African American businesses along the way. About Liberation and Freedom Day: Liberation and Freedom Day is a municipal holiday in Charlottesville celebrated on March 3, to commemorate the day in 1865 when Union Major General Phillip Sheridan and his troops arrived in Charlottesville - liberating over 14,000 enslaved people. About Jefferson School African American Heritage Center: Located in the Jefferson School City Center, The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center’s mission is to honor and preserve the rich heritage and legacy of the African-American community of Charlottesville-Albemarle, Virginia and to promote a greater appreciation for, and understanding of, the contributions of African Americans and peoples of the Diaspora locally, nationally and globally. The Center features a permanent historical exhibit, a rotating contemporary art gallery, and a robust calendar of events, all of which combine to highlight Charlottesville’s African American history and culture of the African diaspora. About Prolyfyck: Prolyfyck is more than a running community. To be Prolyfyck is a way of life, it's a culture. Prolyfyck’s main purpose is to work for the empowerment of those who support it, especially the historically marginalized Black and Brown communities. Our goal is to continue shedding light on the impact of racism, both past and present, rejecting those who would suppress or co-opt the talent of Black and Brown people, claiming ownership over their creativity. Instead, we encourage all to look deep within themselves to find their gifts and tap into their passions, working together with a spirit of unity and love to create a world where everyone can be Prolyfyck! Packet Pickup: Pick up your bib and swag bag on Friday, February 27th at The Jefferson School Heritage Center from 4-6 pm. Bibs will also be available Sat, February 28th before the start of the run/walk. We will be located outside of the JSAAHC Museum shop and Cafe.

Montvale 5 & 8.4 Milers

Montvale, VA
Montvale Park is a great setting for a park. In Bedford County the park is just behind the Montvale Elementary School off of HWY 460. New Directions to the Park – To get to the park’s parking lot you will want to turn off of HWY 460 just before (from the west) and just after (from the east) the Montvale Elementary School. Turn onto Marketplace and head to the end of the turnaround. This will lead you to the gravel road into the Park Entrance. We will be staging the race from under the pavilion. Make sure you carpool when you can and park closely to the person next to you. The park doesn’t have unlimited parking. There is also another way to access the park off of Quarterwood Road (across from the BP gas station). The gravel parking lot will be approximately 1.5 miles on your left. Montvale park is a 6.5 mile trail system that winds through old growth forest. It is a very nice and scenic trail system.
