The annual Dash for Dawn Center 1-mile support walk helps to support survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. This year's event is hosted at the beautiful Tom Varn Park in Brooskville, FL. All proceeds go to Dawn Center, a nonprofit organization in Hernando County. The month of April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Haven Retreats is a registered 501(c)3 whose mission is to create sustainability for foster and adoptive families. Haven hosts therapeutic retreats and provides wrap-around services for these foster and adoptive caregivers throughout the year. Taking place in the scenic riverfront Etowah River Park in North Canton, GA each April, this Peachtree Road Race qualifying event is family friendly - dogs included! The East Oreland Neighborhood Association (EONA) is bringing back the Oreland 5K for the thirteenth year. This community event includes a 5K run, 1 mile walk and ½ mile kid fun run. This year race proceeds are being donated to The Breathing Room.  The Breathing Room Foundation’s mission is to provide individualized care and support to families affected bycancer – addressing emotional, physical, spiritual and financial challenges so that families can focus onhealing. The Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5k started in 2013 and is the only race to start and finish at America's oldest brewery!  D.G. The twelfth annual Jog for Jude, held in memory of Jude Zayac who suddenly and tragically passed away on July 23rd, 2014 from S.I.D.S. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), is the area's only 5k race raising awareness and funds for S.I.D.S. research. MOORE FOR THE TROOPS THIRD ANNUAL 5K Our focus for 2026 is Mental Health Awareness. Our mission is to bring awareness to Veteran Mental Health and share resources for Veterans. The 5K is being held in honor of Bryan McCauley. Bryan is a Marine Corps veteran, former police officer/detective, and firefighter/EMT with over 14 years in recovery. The Light Up the Night 5K is more than just a race—it’s a chance for the community to come together in support of one of its own. Join us as we Light Up the Night for Captain Shane Henson, a dedicated member of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office who has faithfully served the community for more than 30 years. Captain Henson, a pillar of the Dawson County community, was involved in a serious automobile accident over the weekend of March 6–8, 2026. He has already undergone one extensive surgery and is currently undergoing a second surgery at the time this event is being announced. To support the Henson family during this life-altering time, the Dawson County Parks and Recreation Department invites the entire community to come out for the Light Up the Night 5K. This race is a fundraiser for summer scholarship for our local athletes to attend FCA summer camps. This 5k run/walk will be fundraising to support Empower Parkinson Inc, a local organization that hosts events for members in the community who are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. It will be a flat out-and-back course to total 3.1 miles. This is the third annual race to benefit Empower Parkinson Inc. Last year we had over 350 participants and raised over $23,000.
