Come join us for a beautiful run at the Flint Hills Trail, Mile Zero Trailhead in Osawatomie, Kansas. The Flint Hills Trail is the longest of Kansas's 3,000 plus miles of public trails. It's a beautiful escape from the big city. The weather is typically cool and calm although you never know in Kansas! Finishers will receive trail-themed medals and compete for overall awards! Another plus is you get an extra hour of sleep the night before. While this race is on a trail, it is not a technical trail. This is the flattest, fastest trail you'll ever run! The surface is firm and smooth with crushed gravel. Finishers will also receive a giveaway, which is TBD. Pick your distance: 5k, 10k, and 10 miles. The cost is $30/$35/$40 for each distance. Packet pickup is at 7AM at the Karl E. Cole Sports Complex. The address is: 900 12th Street, Osawatomie, Kansas 66064. It is better to use Google Maps rather than Apple Maps to arrive at the correct address. All distances will start at 8AM and the awards ceremony will start after we have three top finishers in each distance. All races will conclude by 12PM.

TOUR de HOPE Gravel is an uncommonly fun gravel cycling event in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The event offers three updated distance options across fast, rolling routes made up of approximately 90% gravel roads. The 50K and 100K courses are timed races, with awards presented to the top three men and women in each distance. The 25K offers a more relaxed, untimed ride for those who want to enjoy the experience without watching the clock. While SAG stops are available along the course, every rider should come prepared to support themselves and handle basic mechanical and nutrition needs. The Essex Running Club will be providing buses to the start of the New York City Marathon again this year departing from Fleet Feet Montclair (603 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair) at 5:30 am. This is a one way trip only and will take runners directly to the starting area at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island. Bagels, bananas and water will be provided on the buses and they will have a bathroom. We are not planning to have a bus back from the finish this year. Join us on November 1st for NAMI Rockland’s 5K annual Run / Walk for Wellness to raise money for local programs and services that promote mental health awareness and end the stigma. Runners and Walkers will participate in the 5K starting at 10 AM. This race will be held rain or shine. There is a $30 registration fee for both runners and walkers. Race Day registration is $35. Sponsorship packages are available for corporations, large groups or individuals. Donors are also encouraged to underwrite the attendance of those in need.

This will be the 6th year for a new time, day and season for the Marathon. The two runs are some of New York State's, even nationally challenging, and yet scenic runs. The half-marathon takes you through parts of three counties, the marathon through four counties. That curious fact for the marathon should put us as number one in the nation in that category. The half-marathon course, of 49 years remains the same, but with new start and finish lines. It includes circling the lake, then the continuation of the sights, sounds, and smells of fresh country air intensity as you leave the dam, near the half-way point. As you head south for the finish line the views unfold of the valley's and the village to the east. The marathon takes in the first 12.1 miles of the half-marathon before turning south, then east at about the 17 mile point. Beginning around the 20 mile marker one heads northwest and gradually ascends to Tromptown's own but short "heartbreak hill". From 22-25 miles one is heading west, finish line bound, descending with a wide panoramic view of three valleys and their surrounding hills. The last mile is level in the village. The marathon and half-marathon are loop courses. They start very near the finish line in front of the school. Both are newly certified. With the new marathon and moving the start and finish lines for the half-marathon new certifications were required. Half-Marathon: The half-marathon is the same course as the last 49 years. However, all runs start very near the school and all runs finish at the same place in front of the school. Full Marathon: This marathon is a Boston qualifier The first 12.1 miles of the marathon course uses the half marathon course. Both runs are loop courses. As they say, whatever happens in (or is it on) Staten Island, stays in Staten Island. Westchester Road Runner is offering a luxuriously bare bones ride to Fort Wadsworth, where you will proceed to wait for hours before you get to run for hours. Waking up before dark, sitting on a bus and being generally awesome is all included in the price so hit the SIGN UP and give us your money. For times and drop-offs, hit the EVENT INFO button. The Taconic Marathon Bus will go directly to Staten Island non-stop. TRR members $30, everyone else $40. The Taconic bus will leave PROMPTLY at 5:30 AM from Downing Park. Runners will be dropped off in Staten Island at McLean Avenue and Lily Pond Road, about a 10 minute walk to the entrance to Fort Wadsworth. The bus will not be in Manhattan after the race, so you will need to find transportation to get home.

The Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund supplies grants and scholarships for adopting families and the precious children they bring home. Since 2017, Faithful Bible Church has given away $32,098 in adoption and foster care grants, helping bring five children home and serving four others through medical and foster care assistance. David Zid expands the fight for brain health “All Together Now” – the Movin’ It! 5K Run/Walk Parkinson’s Disease now benefits the Alzheimer’s (AD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) communities. Total HealthWorks is expanding its programs to improve brain health, serve more people living with neurodegenerative conditions, and grow our facility. Because You Can is a Halloween 5K run and walk created in memory of Leslie Ungerott. Most participants walk, and people of all ages and abilities are welcome.
