Perry County Road Runners will host the 42nd edition of the Last Mile on December 27th 2025.  Its a 5 mile race that starts at the Duncannon Fire Hall at Cumberland and High St.  It goes through the scenic hillside outside town and finishes by the Fire Hall. Enjoy a trail run in the beautiful Rattlesnake Mountain and Huffaker hills. This course is all trail. Long sleeve performance shirt is included in race registration fee. The 5k race will begin at 9am on Saturday December 26th, 2026. 5k and virtual 5k available Youth and adult athletes are welcome, ages 5 and up.  This is a recognized and sanctioned race by USA track and field. EMT services will be provided by REMSA. This race will be officially timed and results will be posted online after the race. Parking   Parking is limited at Huffaker Hills Trailhead, once the parking lot and side of the road parking is full, volunteers will direct participants to park at the Longley Town center parking lot at the bottom of the mountain where a shuttle will be available. We encourage participants and fans to ride in the same vehicle and arrive early to the race. OK, here is your Last Chance to run a 1/2 marathon or full marathon this year! The 1/2 marathon course is an out and back and the full marathon course is the same out and back course two times, starting at Fairhaven Park Pavillion, running the Interurban trail out to Clayton Beach for the full 13.1 miles or 26.2. Course is subject to change if trail conditions mandate.   This trail has spectacular views and very few hills, just enough hills to make it interesting, and break up the flat sections. FYI: We have been known to have SNOW this time of the year so plan accordingly. The majority of this trail is covered with a canopy of trees which deflects some of the rain or snow, but this also means it doesn’t heat as fast as an open course would. It can get cold. The majority of the trail is an old railroad bed, very easy to run on gravel surface, with the exception of Arroyos Park. Arroyos Park is a double track trail with a few bridges and a few fun hills. RunVermont's mission is to support running as a lifelong activity by producing exceptional events and programs that engage our community and celebrate the athletic spirit. RunVermont endeavors to start this support early by offering free youth races throughout the year and through its Mini Milers program. Mini Milers gives elementary school children access to fitness, good nutrition, community service and goal setting, all while having fun and being safe. Children meet weekly with Mini Miler leaders to get motivated, get educated, get some exercise, and keep track of their progress. Mini Milers are not required to participate in RunVermont's Memorial Day Weekend Youth Events, which include the M&T Bank Vermont City Two Mile and the Mini Marathon, but the majority of Mini Milers, along with several hundred other youth, choose to. While it does cost money to participate in these youth events, RunVermont does not want a registration fee to be a barrier to any youth participati

Two days of run events (New Year's Eve and New Year's Day), with beautiful race shirts and finisher medals for everyone. We are celebrating getting active to end the year and getting active to start the new year off right! There is a 5K, half marathon, and marathon BOTH days. The 5K happens in its entirety before the half and full marathon, so participants can do up to 2 races per day. There's also a special perk for those who complete multiple running events over the two days – we know how runners love their bling! For those who want the biggest challenge of a 5K and marathon EACH day, they will finish the two days with 58.6 miles and go into the next year with some solid miles already!

We are taking this event back to have some amazing fun on a very fast course. we will be doing some great give aways and competitions for both runners and teams. First 100 adult runners will receive a 1/4 zip jacket upgrade all others will receive a long sleeve shirt. Run in the New Year with us at the 4th annual NOON Year's Eve 5K presented by Patterson Heating & Air Conditioning! This popular holiday 5K sold out the first three years, so we're expecting a full house again in 2026. The 5K kicks off with a traditional New Year's Eve countdown at NOON! All paces are welcome. Runners (and walkers!) will enjoy a certified cross country course with scenic views of the lake and surrounding parkland. SWAG If you love swag, we've got you covered! 5K participants will receive a long sleeve, branded race shirt, a finisher medal and post-race lunch/beverages. Make sure you sign up early to secure your swag though, as we do expect another sellout.
