We are excited to announce the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K run on December 20th, 2025. This unique and challenging course will not only wind along the Halifax River but also offer views of the Casements (John D Rockefeller's winter home), Fortunato Park and traverses the Granada Bridge offering majestic views of our beautiful area. Santa is back in town! Whether you’re naughty or nice, you don’t want to miss this fun, festive, holiday favorite. We have some changes afoot in 2024! Due to uncertainty about venues and routes due to hurricanes Helene and Milton, we have moved both the half marathon and 10K to start and finish at Seminole City Park in Seminole. The park is a great venue and will provide a fantastic setting for the post-race celebration. We will not be offering alcoholic beverages this year due to park restrictions. We were already considering removing them anyway to make the Holiday Distance Classic a more family-friendly and focused event.

Traverse City Track Club’s Jingle Bell Run:  5:30pm - Sunday, December 20, 2026 The Jingle Bell Run is a nighttime holiday run that tours favorite neighborhood streets bordering downtown Traverse City that are adorned in holiday lights and decorations. The Monroe County Fairgrounds is back again for the 2nd annual Holiday Lights 5k.  For year two we are adding a race shirt, timing, and making it a true 5k event.  This unique 5k takes you through the fairgrounds holiday lights route 2.5 times and ends at the fairgrounds free stage.  Come join us and make this a new holiday family tradition! This year's event will take place Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Packet Pickup will start at 6pm and the run/walk will begin at 7pm.  Please enter the fairgrounds through gate 4 and try to arrive no later than 6:30 to allow time for the crowd to complete packet pickup.  We will try to start promptly at 7pm.

THE KILGORE HALF *Also known as THE RUN FOR THE DEPLOYED* THE HISTORY OF THE CHRISTMAS EVE RUN In 2009 Scott was deployed over Christmas. On Christmas Eve of that year he told me he was going to run a half marathon. When I asked him why, he said, because he was deployed and not able to be at home. The following year on a training run for a half marathon he and I were running together, he tells me he was going to do the same thing he did the year prior on Christmas Eve but from home this time. Knowing how our Oklahoma running community responds to a good cause and GOOD TIMES, we invited the Oklahoma City Southside Running Club to join us.In 2010, our first year as hosts, we had 24 runners. Our second year we grew to 43 runners. Perry County Road Runners will host the 42nd edition of the Last Mile on December 27th 2025.  Its a 5 mile race that starts at the Duncannon Fire Hall at Cumberland and High St.  It goes through the scenic hillside outside town and finishes by the Fire Hall.
