The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, invites all runners and walkers to participate in a 5K Run/Walk in the magical setting of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival at Seneca Creek State Park. Winter Lights features more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays. Runners and walkers will utilize the roads through the Park during the race. Roads will be closed to traffic except for Emergency Vehicles and vehicles required for race management. Race registration includes entry to the Park and parking is on-site and free of charge. Due to the time of year, this event can experience inclement weather. It is also a sellout race and typicall sells out in a few days. Death by 5k is coming back to Oak Mountain State Park! The first four years have been awesome so let's do it again! RunStrong Event's signature 24 hour challenge, Death by 5k requires participants to run ten 5ks, starting each 5k spaced 2.5 hours apart. The first 5k starts at 8 am, and subsequent 5ks start at 1030, 1, 330, 6, 830, 11, 130, 4, and 630 am. Participants need to be present at the start of each 5k, and have that 5k finished prior to the start of the subsequent 5k. This challenge is designed to test participants mentally and physically with physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and running in the dark. Race Day: November 21, 2026   Join us for the 4th Annual Dam 5 Miler!   This race starts at the Center Hill Recreation Area, which offers a scenic vantage point of the Center Hill Dam.  The run continues over Center Hill Dam towards then enters Edgar Evins State Park.  As you enter the State Park, a native pollinator corridor hugs the roads as you travel to the Visitor Center Office.  The route in both directions has challenging points due to road inclines.   Participants who wish to run or walk are both welcome at the Dam 5 Miler. Saturday, November 21st, 2026. The Summit Backyard Ultra is a backyard ultra that was previously hosted by Pursue Your Summit LLC. This is the first year that it will be operating under Perspective Pacing. The Summit LMS is a run under the backyard ultra format in which you must complete 4.17 miles within the hour on the hour until there is only one person left. The last person to complete a lap will be crowned the winner.  While every racer will get some cool swag, October 30th is the deadline to get a shirt. It's the Fall Classic's 50th Anniversary, and we are bringing an exciting change to this classic race. The Fall Classic will be a two-day race: the 5k will be on Saturday, November 21st, and the Half Marathon and Relay will be on Sunday, November 22nd. This will allow us to welcome more runners and also offer a Foxy Challenge, completing both events! Join the Cleveland Road Runners Club for the 50th running of the Fall Classic 1/2 marathon and 5K at Bonnie Park. Over the past 5 decades, thousands of runners have enjoyed this fast, scenic course run entirely in the beautiful Cleveland Metroparks. The 5K & half marathon are USA Track & Field–certified! Both courses are flat and fast, running primarily along the scenic Valley Parkway road through the Cleveland Metroparks — ideal for chasing a personal best. The Eagle 5000 Turkey Trot is a new race that puts a twist on the traditional Thanksgiving turkey trot. Entrants will run a full 5k on the track with athletes racing in heats based on their predicted finishing times. This event will be held on November 21st, 2026 on the track at Thomas Edison High School in Alexandria, VA. The race is in-person, rain or shine.   This event is all about bringing our community together to help raise money for the Thomas Edison Cross Country and Track and Field programs. This run/walk is in memory of Dan Rankin who was tragically hit and killed on Jan 24, 2024 by an impaired driver while out on a run training for a Spartan 50k race. Dan was married to his high school sweetheart and they have 4 beautiful children. He lived a very full life with no regrets. He was an entrepreneur at heart and always ready to lend a helping hand.   All proceeds will go to Delaware Wrestling Alliance.

The RUN Manatee 5k series offers THREE adventures to celebrate ONE community. Participants will discover Manatee County's parks, beaches and preserves... on the run! The final event of the series will be held on Saturday, November 21st at Rye Preserve in Parrish, FL. The 5K run/walk presented by Run with Purpose Nutrition will allow runners to explore this beautiful slice of old Florida on mixed terrain. The preserve's trail system leads visitors through four distinctive ecosystems, including sand pine scrub, xeric oak scrub, oak hammocks and the river community. Look closely for a glimpse of the variety of interesting creatures that can be seen in these areas including the rare gopher tortoise and Florida scrub-jay.  Warm up will be provided by a local fitness trainer, and yoga cooldown by a local yoga instructor.
