Everybody has a story. Just listen. You never know what is going on behind their smile. Approximately 22 veterans take their own lives PER DAY. At 22 Too Many, they are committed to increasing public knowledge and awareness of PTS. 22 TOO MANY is also devoted to honoring the memory of the fallen who have been lost to suicide, as well as providing comfort and support to their mourning families. Suicide is not only a military issue. A 2024 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report, 131.2 U.S. adults died by suicide PER DAY. Oktoberfest at Lake of the Ozarks is back with a .5k and a 5k. Yes, you read that right.  In addition to a traditional 5k, we have a one-half K (roughly .31 miles for you non-runners). Naked-Snap Dragon style race. This is an 18 and up event. We will run .86 mile laps around Sunset Mountain on the Snap Dragon trail starting at 1pm and the last person to finish each lap will be out. We will run until there is only 1 person left or at 4pm if the race is still going we will have a race off to determine the top three male and female finishers. Each lap will be limited to 12 minutes and this years race is 180 minutes long with an additional race-off lap. You may expect to run a half marathon if you are one of the top competitors! Not only the last person to complete each lap will be out but also anyone who can't make it back in 12 minutes. Every 12 minutes a new lap will start with the remaining contestants.  Just for reference this is an extremely aggressive running trail. The Chappie James Bridge Run (formerly known as the Bridge to Bridge 5K) will start at the base of the 3 mile Bay Bridge on the Pensacola side and will run over the Bay Bridge into Gulf Breeze, finishing at The Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge. The trail system, which includes both Crystal Mountain property and state land, provides some of the most fun riding in Michigan. The hardwood and pine forests along with rambling two-tracks and flowing single-tracks will have you humming as you race. The Headless Horseman 5K is BACK and SPOOKIER than ever! This dusk event will be in-person and kick-off at State and Clinton Streets in beautiful Downtown Howell. Costumed participants will wind their way through the historic neighborhoods and through Scofield City Park. Participants will receive a long-sleeved 50/50 blend shirt if registered by the end of the day on September 27th.   Early Packet Pick up will take place Oct. 14th -16th at the Oceola Community Center 1661 N. The Christina Bohn Memorial 5K for PMDD Awareness is a timed run, or it can be walked at your leisure. It is hosted by the Christina Bohn Foundation. The Christina Bohn Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising awareness of and supporting those with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Premenstrual Exacerbation (PME).  This is the third annual Christina Bohn Memorial 5K for PMDD Awareness. We are celebrating the third anniversary of Missouri's PMDD Awareness Day, which is on Christina's birthday, October 2. On November 3, 2021, Christina died by suicide. She was 33 years old, the mother of two young children, had been a thoracic ICU nurse, and was a classically trained vocalist and pianist.
