Join us for the Domestic Violence Awareness 5K, a community-centered event dedicated to bringing awareness, hope, and healing to survivors of domestic violence—both men and women. This earth-friendly road race features a spectacularly scenic course in rural Eastern Connecticut. The event begins and ends at the Historic Comstock covered bridge and follows the Salmon River through the State Forest and along an old railroad bed. The course features varied terrain, including pavement, dirt roads, and improved trails, culminating in a fast downhill finish. Join us for the 4th annual Growing Minds Foundation Fall Festival 5K walk/run October 4th! The Growing Minds Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides medical scholarships to children with disabilities and complex medical needs in NorthEastern Arkansas. The 5K will begin and end at the Black River Overlook Park, located across the hwy. from First Horizon Bank in Pocahontas, AR. RHOTI is a 501(c)3() non-profit organization which uses the money raised from an Island-wide bicycle ride to help local breast cancer patients & survivors. This 26-mile bike ride takes place every year. Now in existence for over 10 years, Reel Housewives of Topsail Island continues to help our community and take pride in our cause. Last year we had over 500 bike riders and are eagerly anticipating even more this year. This is a fantastic event, an amazing experience and most importantly, for a wonderful cause! Last Year we added the 5K along with the 10K race and it was a big success so we will continue with the two races this year. If you are signing up for the Le Tour de Carrboro a three race series benefiting Carrboro Area Charities, you will need to choose to do either the 5K or the 10K as part of the series.  The Carrboro 10K is 6.2 miles, the Carrboro 5K is 3.1 miles.  Both races start at 8 a.m. at McDougle Middle School, wind through Carrboro neighborhoods, and finish on the McDougle track. NOTE: THE 5K RACE IS CAPPED AT 250 PARTICIPANTS SO REGISTER EARLY!
