Texas' Hottest trail race, the Habanero Hundred was born from a summer long-run gone wrong (ask Race Director Cal) and is now one of the largest trail races in the state, held in August every year with options for many distances and the marquee event being the 100-mile distance. CASA of the Heartland will host  race THREE of the Light the Night 5K: Superhero Walk/Run Series on Friday, August 21, 2026, at James D. Beville City Park in Leitchfield. Our goal is to raise awareness for the most vulnerable children in our community—and use this night to pay tribute to our local heroes who protect and serve. The Triathlon begins in the Town of Oyster Bay and takes you through surrounding towns. It begins with a 1/2 mile swim in calm Oyster Bay Harbor. Next, you will bike a one loop 12.3K, over hill and dale, thru beautiful Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove. Fairly hilly but downhill and flat to the finish. Lastly, you will run a 5K thru Mill Neck and Brookville, "Up" to the Planting Fields Arboretum and back "Down" to Roosevelt Park. Town of Oyster Bay residents receive a $5 discount. This event is being held to benefit LIV's Promise; a nonprofit organization created to fight childhood cancer. Our daughter, Olivia, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at 9 months old. She's a fighter and we are fighting alongside her. Proceeds from this event will go directly towards families and children who are battling an early cancer diagnosis. The Tampa General Hospital Loggerhead Triathlon is Presented by Tampa General Hospital and produced by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce is one of the longest enduring triathlons in the state of Florida. Better Together 4 Saranac presents the inaugural BT4S BridgeFest 5k! The 5k run/walk will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 8:00 am.  Participants will receive a race t-shirt and finishers medal. A full gas assault on Luton Park to determine the true KOM or QOM to benefit the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation (PHRF) The race course at Luton Park will feature an approximately 8-mile loop of single track.  (Expert/Elite - 3 laps, Sport 2 laps, and beginner 1 lap)  It is a hard-packed, fast course with some technical sections and moderate climbs. Passing will be easily achieved in several areas.   This is a time trial, and start times are based on the date and time you register and category, so register early for the best starting position.

Our 5th annual Night of Hope will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Westerville North High School Cross Country Course and McCann Stadium. The evening will feature 5K and 1 Mile races on the Westerville North Cross Country Course, and Family Fun Run around the track. The evening will promote mental health awareness and celebrate the lives of those we've lost to suicide. The evening will also feature Mental Health partners who will have information on their services and resources. This year, our Top Overall Male, Female and Non-Binary finisher will receive an award! All the money raised at the event will go directly towards supporting Westerville Education Challenge's initiatives in Westerville City Schools including: Hope Squad (at all high schools & middle schools), RoX, WEB (Where Everyone Belongs), Twinkle's Care, student scholarships, and Parent Prep. Can you survive the Death by 5k Challenge?  Ten 5ks in 24 hours. The first 5k starts at 8 am and subsequent 5ks start every 2.5 hours.  5k start times are as follows: 8 am, 1030 am, 1 pm, 330 pm, 6 pm, 830 pm, 11 pm, 130 am, 4 am, 630 am. The final 5k must be completed by 8 am on Sunday.  The event will take place at the RunStrong Training Center and the 5k course will be the same for each leg, starting and ending at the Training Center. Runners may rest or sleep inside their vehicles in between 5ks, or can go home if they live close enough to the event location. There is also a green space where tents can be placed.  There will be 5 meals, each including hot food, served over the course of the event. Meal times will be 830a, 130p, 630p, 1130p, and 420a. There will be plenty of snack food throughout the event also.  Registrants will receive a race shirt along with some race swag, and finishers will receive a custom finisher's coffin.
