Our goal is to raise awareness for the most vulnerable children in our community—and use this night to pay tribute to our local heroes who protect and serve. This event is a celebration of those hometown heroes, and a chance for all of us to show up for kids who need someone in their corner. Texas' Hottest trail race, the Habanero Hundred was born from a summer long-run gone wrong (ask Race Director Cal) and is now one of the largest trail races in the state, held in August every year with options for many distances and the marquee event being the 100-mile distance. On Saturday August 22, 2026, DMTL Nonprofit Organization will host the Annual A Healthy KSU 3K & Health Fair. Our vision is to decrease the health disparities within and among KSU students, alumni, and the Frankfort community, bridging gaps to help achieve Health Equity! Kentucky State University alumnus and A Healthy KSU and DMTL founder Tyrie Nason Buchanan noticed a large number of his classmates and younger KSU alumni were losing their lives to health-related issues far too soon. DMTL is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focusing on health equity and mentorship and bears the initials of Buchanan’s mother and brothers whom he lost to gun violence. He made a pledge to do something to highlight healthy lifestyles while also promoting inclusivity for historically marginalized communites. The Snowmaker Road Race is an annual event that benefits the Woods Valley Ski Patrol.  The 25th Annual Snowmaker course begins at the Woods Valley Ski Area and tours the picturesque Hamlet of Westernville, NY before finishing back at the Ski Area.  The event consists of a 5K Run, a one-mile walk, and a one-mile kids run for participants 12 and under. CORE of McLean, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is holding our annual 6.6k (4.1-mile) run/walk to benefit the community of McLean, IL. This point-to-point 6.6k/4.1-mile run/walk starts in Funks Grove (shuttle service is provided from McLean to Funks Grove), with participants running or walking on the Mother Road herself to our new park under the old water tower in McLean, which was funded by previous proceeds from this event. Join us for a historic 10K Road Race along the Oswego River starting in Phoenix NY.  This course will quickly become one of your favorites.  This race had a huge following in the mid 80's through early 90's, and we'll stick with the original course.  It's flat, fast, and beautiful as it parallels the Oswego River for the entire loop course.  You'll start at Lock Island Park and immediately cross the Oswego River on the Phoenix Bridge.  You'll then run north along the river on Pendergast Road, glimpsing the river between open fields, woods, and homes along the way.  At the half way point you'll turn right to make a second crossing of the river at the single lane Hinmansville Bridge built in 1915.  A short jaunt through the woods on a packed dirt road will connect you to River Road to run back into the village of Phoenix and a finish at Lock 1.  This would be a great prep race for your fall half marathon or marathon! The KMC Sage City Classic is a cycling road race held in Monticello, Illinois, featuring a scenic course through Piatt County. The event is designed to accommodate both competitive and recreational riders, offering smooth pavement, open terrain, and an enjoyable road racing experience in central Illinois. “Where the miles meet the wild.”   The Falls & Forest 12‑Hour Challenge invites runners to push their limits in one of Kentucky’s most scenic and rugged natural playgrounds: Saunder Springs Nature Preserve. Join us Saturday, August 9th, starting in Downtown Mansfield for a 5K run & walk. Proceeds are to benefit the Mansfield Homecoming celebration happening the following weekend! All ages welcome. The race will begin at 8:00am, starting in front Three Toad Treasures, located on the corner of S. Jefferson & E. Oliver. This will be a chip-timed event with instant and online results.  The registration fee includes a t-shirt. One per registrant. Youth and adult sizes are offered. Deadline to register for $25 & receive t-shirt is July 28th at 11:59pm CDT. We cannot guarantee extra T shirts for registrations after July 28th. The course starts and finishes in Estabrook Park at the beer garden. Runners will enjoy a few miles around beautiful Estabrook Park before heading out onto the lovely and mostly shaded Oak Leak Trail bike path.
