This is the 19th year for the United Way of McPherson County Triathlon, held at McPherson Water Park and Lakeside Park in McPherson, Kansas.  Nicknamed by one racer as "The Fastest Short Course in Kansas," the United Way Triathlon starts with a 200-meter swim, followed by a 7-mile bike and finishing with a 2-mile run.   There is also a Junior Triathlon for youth with a 100-meter swim, 1 mile bike, and 1-mile run.    Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26th, 2026.

The 2026 Louisiana Watermelon Festival 5k event offers a great challenge to local runners and walkers. This course is a fast first mile downhill followed by what we like to affectionately call Watermelon Mountain at mile 2. This year, proceeds from the event will go to Willpower Foundation, Inc. This is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers in Northeast Louisiana that host events to race money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Welcome back for round 2!  This will be a family fun run/walk to benefit local teachers, students, and schools for the upcoming school year. 5K and One Mile Race Entries will be accepted online until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd. Race day registrations will be accepted (without receiving a shirt). Early packet pickup will be available Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the information kiosk downtown at Swiss Days. Race day packet pickup starts at 7 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top 10 finishers in each division. There will be an aid station along the 5K route. Post-race refreshments will be available to all participants.  You must be registered by Sunday July 20th at 11:59pm to receive a t-shirt the day of the race.  1 Mile race is open to those age 11 and under on July 26, 2025.

Join Epic Racing Events for the summer tradition of the New Haven 5K/10K! We also now also offer a 5K distance too!! The race will start and finish at Jury Pool Park in New Haven and proceeds through the adjoining neighborhoods.This is the second race of our Epic Summer series. Join us and beat the heat this summer at our Midnight Run 5K/10K for Special Olympics. This event is presented by the Leawood Police Department, a participating agency in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kansas, and features a fast course through the streets of Leawood. Your participation will help raise money for Special Olympics and finishers in both the 5K and 10K Run/Walk will receive a custom finishers medal! Nordic fest is an annual 3-day summer festival held in Decorah, Iowa that celebrates community and the area’s Scandinavian heritage.  Started in 1967, Nordic fest is organized by a board of volunteers and offers food, activities and entertainment for the whole family.  The Elveløpet is held on the Saturday morning of Nordic Fest weekend.  Hailed as Decorah’s “river run” race course along the Upper Iowa river and surrounding area.  This family fun event highlights the natural beauty that Decorah has to offer.
