After completing his 48th XC season at Bloomington North and beginning his 48th track season, coach Charlie Warthan will be retiring from coaching.  Coach Warthan started as head boys xc coach in the fall of 1978.  Since that time, he has amassed some amazing stats. 26 XC Sectional titles 20 XC Regional titles 14 XC Semi-State titles (discontinued in 2023) 2 XC State titles (1980 & 2024) 23 Track Sectional titles 18 Track Regional titles *X number of individual and relay state champions in track...   Fittingly, we are having a 5k and banquet at the conclusion of his track season to celebrate this man's amazing career.  We are calling for all former runners, coaches, parents, and administrators that have been a part of this journey to join us on June 7th to show our appreciation to coach.  Note:  This is a surprise for coach so please keep this quiet as we pull this all together.   Registration cost pays for your shirt and commemorative finisher medal.  Donations will go toward

The Menlo Park Kids Triathlon (“MPKT”) is a triathlon specifically for kids ages from 4 to 17 years old. A triathlon is a race that consists of a combination of three sports: swimming, cycling, and running. The kids start the race with swimming at the Burgess Pool in waves (triathlon speak for groups) of 20 to 25  kids. From the swim, they run to the transition area to put on their helmets, shoes, and anything else they need. They then mount their bikes and head out to the bike course. When the kids are done with the bike, they head back to transition to put their bike away, and head to run round Burgess Park. They finish the race in the park by crossing through the finishing chute!

Dashing for Donuts 5K Fun Run and 1 mile Kids Race

I will be holding the fourth annual, Dashing for Donuts 5K and kids 1 mile fun run on June 7th! We will be running the same course as last year. It will be held on the El Dorado Trail from the new bridge at Missouri Flat Road. It is an out and back race. Once you're finished, you get a donut and a medal. The 5K race will happen first and then we will have the kids 1 mile race.   All proceeds from the race will go to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, (NOCC) -Team Teal. I am a 16 year survivor of ovarian cancer and a team member of NOCC - Team Teal. NOCC helps all women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and educates along with supporting them.   Packet pick-up will be at Kaia Fit, 4615 Missouri Flat Road #5, 4 pm to 5:30 pm on Friday, June 5th or 8:30 am to 10 am on Saturday, June 6th. After the Worcester Cold Storage Fire on Dec 3, 1999, this road race was created as a living memorial to those men known as the “Worcester Six” – Paul Brotherton, Jerry Lucey, Tim Jackson, Tom Spencer, Jay Lyons and Joe McGuirk. Sadly, the Worcester Fire Department has had three other members die in the Line of Duty since 1999. Jon Davies in 2011, Chris Roy in 2018 and Jason Menard in 2019. This race continues on to remember their memories and dedication to the City of Worcester. Susan McDaniel Run for Lovelane 5K

WHY WE RUN!Susan McDaniel, an avid athlete, actress, and equestrian, was a student at Lovelane throughout her two-year battle with cancer. Susan showed us how to defiantly live life. When surgery took the coordination in her right hand, she learned to write with her left. When treatments left her too exhausted to ride, she took joy in stable chores and teaching other students. Susan’s family spearheaded the Run in her memory to ensure all families have access to Lovelane’s unique and effective therapy. All proceeds from the Run support Lovelane’s Tuition Assistance Program, so that all children in need can receive the highly beneficial therapy at Lovelane regardless of their family’s financial situation. Swimming, biking, and running, oh my!  Rocketkidz Rookies Triathlon is an event specially designed to introduce children ages 3-10 to the sport of triathlon.   3-4 yr olds: swim 15 yds, bike 1/4 mile, run 100 yds. ONE parent may accompany the child on the course.  5-6 yr olds: swim 25 yds, bike 1/2 mile, run 1/4 mile. 7-10 yr olds: swim 25 yds, bike 1 mile, run 1/2 mile.    Training wheels are acceptable for all ages. Please ensure your child's bike is in good working order prior to the event.  We've got non-swimmer divisions where a child can use flotation devices

This race will start and finish on Kenosia Avenue. Runners will begin the race heading northbound until they reach Christopher Columbus Avenue. From there, runners will continue around the cul-de-sac and head back towards the start/finish line. The course is flat and will have a hydration table set up around the halfway point. There will be a post race party and awards at Elicit Brewing following the race.  Every dollar raised from this race will go toward supporting an officer’s child’s higher education fund. At the end of the event, a recipient will be randomly chosen by an independent third party. A free beer from Elicit Brewing will be given to any runner age 21+, with valid proof of sign up.  There will be plenty of parking available on race day at the Elicit Brewing lot, located at 15 Backus Avenue. A celebration of Trumbull High School Seniors, the Trumbull High School Eagle Final Fly Thru is a car procession allowing High School Seniors a chance to cruise the Town of Trumbull while onlookers cheer them on into the future!  The event will begin at the Trumbull Mall and proceed along a planned route to Trumbull High School. ALL SENIORS MUST BE DRIVEN BY PARENT OR OR GUARDIAN ALL DRIVERS MUST ALSO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT Seniors may safely travel in a vehicle as the procession leads them through town and culminates at Trumbull High School.
