The 5K event starts at 8:30 AM Since 1997, the United Way 5K Run/Walk has been a community favorite. This event brings several hundred participants annually to the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster. It's a closed 5K course. Cash prizes are awarded to the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers for the 5K. Our traveling Participation Trophy has become very popular with local businesses. Trophies are awarded to the company with the largest number of participants (either walk or run) based on company size. It's a great opportunity to bring people together. This year, United Way of Fairfield County will also be hosting a Food Drive for our Weekend Backpack program and will be asking for donations of granola bars, trail mix, cereals, fruits, and applesauce. 3612 Ruck is a rucking endurance challenge designed to find out who is the most capable rucker. The course will be an EMOM style event where you will complete a 1 mile course within the 20 minute time frame. At the 20 minute mark, you will step off again. This 5K is to help raise money for our Assistant Chief and his family during a difficult time. Their daughter Hailee is needing a heart transplant. Troy and Jessi will both be staying in Iowa City with her while she waits. Then comes the recovery. So we are helping raise what we can for them. Shirts will be sold separately.

This 10K ruck march will raise awareness to veteran suicide prevention and benefit the veteran nonprofit Ultimate Experience Outdoors. UXO provides outdoor adventure opportunities to Veterans, First Responders, Gold Star Families, and Disabled Children. The 10K ruck march will start at the Helena High school at 0845, then traverse through the historic Hillsboro Trail, culminating at the Helena High School flagpole. We’ll meet at the Skechers store for a warm-up, photos, and time to connect before heading out along the coast together. Whether you’re running or walking, come enjoy the morning at your own pace. Afterward, head back to Base Camp for refreshments, personalized photo keychains, and a relaxed post-run hangout with MeiMei and Jacob. Spaces are limited, and advance registration is required. This is a 5K and 1 Mile run hosted on Louisiana Tech's campus by Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Pre-Registration will be open until October 24th at 11:59 PM. Participants who pre-register will receive a Sprint For St. Jude athletic T-Shirt. Normal registration will open immediately following pre-registration's closing and will be open until November 6th at 11:59 PM.
