The Hook is a long-standing community half-marathon known for its challenging hill climb in the last few miles. This year’s Half will again start and finish at the Rockland Lakes North Parking Lot (Field #1) by the Pavilion. This year for the first time in the Hook Half history we will have pacers!We are also incorporating a 10K race, as there are not many local 10K races. Like the Half, it will start and finish at the North parking lot. Unlike the half, this will be a fairly flat course with two loops around Rockland Lake. Making Tracks for South 5K

The 9th Annual Making Tracks for South 5K Run and 2K  Fitness Walk in West Amwell, NJ will be held on Sunday, April 12 2026 to raise funds and support for the South Hunterdon Regional High School and Middle School Track and Cross Country Programs. South Hunterdon Regional High School's track construction was completed in the spring of 2020. However, due to the pandemic, the team was unable to utilize the track until the Spring of 2021. South Track and Field will be entering its 13th season in 2025 and is the most participated sport in our athletics program.  Since our first season in 2012, we have sent several individuals and relay teams to the state finals and 7 individuals to the meet of champions.  The XC teams have been similarly successful! Take a walk on the WILDSTRIDE! Happy Cat Fitness often attempts to promote strength training alongside running and hiking. Let's combine the two! The event will combine bodyweight strength exercises with hiking/running intervals. There will be two distance options, the Hikestrong 10k and Hikestrong Half. It will feature 6  low impact, bodyweight, basic strength challenges like squats, lunges and push ups. The course is a 2.2 mile trail loop with beautiful scenery, some hills and a few short uneven/technical sections. The main part of the trail is a crushed rock surface. The Half Marathon will feature 6 loops, 6 strength stations to be performed at the start of each loop (50 reps of 1 exercise per station). The 10k will have 3 loops, 3 stations. Christian James Albain, 10, of Toledo, OH,  passed away in the arms of his loving parents after a valiant battle with leukemia at Nationwide  Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH.  He was born August 23, 2007 in Toledo, OH to Christopher Albain and Brittney Styer. Christian  came into this world with a natural kindness and the ability to make friends with everyone he met. He loved his family, above all else, and will always be idolized by his siblings, cousins and numerous other family and friends.
