Grant Crawford Memorial Run

Grant Crawford Memorial Run Merck Animal Health will sponsor a 5 km run/walk the morning of Wednesday, April 8th with a 6:30 am start time.  Grant Crawford was an exemplary husband, father, colleague, friend, scientist, leader, and runner whose life ended in a tragic car accident last spring.  Dr. Crawford was a co-chair of the Midwest Consulting Nutritionist Forum and an active participant in the Plains Nutrition Conference.  This inaugural race will be continued for years to come. Race entry fee will be $50 plus a small online processing fee; the $50 entry fee will be donated directly to the Grant Ira Crawford Memorial Fund established by the Crawford family.  Additional donations can also be made through the site. Vending Trucks or Booths are $250 for Thursday, Friday & Saturday!Breakfast Only Vending is just $100 for Friday, Saturday & Sunday!   All booth space or food truck space is outdoors at Veteran’s Memorial Park.  Tents are not included.  Electricity and water is included.  Limited 50 amp on first come first served basis.  Space is limited to insure the proper number of vendors. The event will have approximately 500 cyclists coming from around the world to stay several days in Sierra Vista and visit the surrounding area.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings there will be live music at the Veteran’s Memorial Park Pavilion, a beer garden and we are looking for food trucks and vendors and other vendors. The program is structured for beginning runners or those who are returning to running. It involves a mix of walking and running gradually increasing to running a 5K distance. This 5K is to raise diabetes awareness as well as raise money for the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help further their movement towards treatment, prevention, and finding a cure for diabetes. Proceeds raised at this event will go to Hamann's Helping Hands Charity, which is working to raise funds and provide gifts for children in the hospital. For the 6th year running and partnering with the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch, we are bringing back an amazing and beautiful trail race to Loveland, CO. You will have 6 distances to choose from. Come run on beautiful trails on private land at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch. The views alone are to die for! There are different terrains throughout the course, something to challenge everyone. We will have a 5K and 10K. On Saturday there will be a 4hr, 6hr, 12hr, and 12hr 4-person relay timed races. The William Northrup School Fun Run is a schoolwide fundraising event that brings students, families, and our community together for a day of movement, teamwork, and school spirit. Each student will participate in the Fun Run and has a personal fundraising page to invite friends and family to support their effort. Bob Friday Warrior Invitational Scholarship Donations & Results

Bob Friday was a long time teacher and coach at Henderson High School.  His teams won 2 state team championships in track and field and many individual state championships.  More importantly, he taught his athletes and students to show integrity throughout their lives.  The Warrior Invitational has been renamed the Bob Friday Invitational in his honor.  The meet will be help on April 10 at Henderson High School.
