The Dion Foundation is thrilled to host the 2ndAnnual "Hearts for Muscle" 5K Run/Walk in Naples, FL on  Saturday, February 14th, 2026  The Run/Walk will be at the beautiful Baker Park off of Goodlett Frank Road, Downtown Naples. This centrally located area is a perfect spot to come together to support our mission - to build awareness for Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and raise funds to accelerate treatments for children who suffer from this life threatening disease. After the race, we will congregate in the park next to the white tents and photo back drop area near the finish line for an awards ceremony, raffle and of course some music and food!

Death by 5k is coming BACK to Florida! Think you have what it takes to finish the Death by 5k challenge? Taking place at the beautiful property of Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center, Death by 5k requires participants to run (or walk) ten 5ks over 24 hours, starting each 5k 2.5 hours apart. (8 am, 1030 am, 1 pm, 330 pm, 6 pm, 830 pm, 11 pm, 130 am, 4 am, 630 am) Race HQ will be the event venue known as The Barn and the course will be a loop through the property, alongside Coldwater Creek. The route will be mostly single track with lots of roots and some rocks, along with some atv packed sand roads. Hot food will be served at 830 am, 130 pm, 9 pm and 430 am. Snacks will be available throughout the event. Water and Gatorade will be available as well. His death rocked the community and galvanized residents to do something substantive to honor Max and ensure he is remembered. This race provides an opportunity to help heal the community and to support The UPMC Child Advocacy Center of Central PA, an organization whose sole purpose is to treat children who have experienced abuse.  This is not a timed event. The focus of the run is to honor and remember Max.

The Run the Line Half Marathon is a unique opportunity to run in one half marathon in Texas and Arkansas on a USATF certified single-loop course.  The race starts at W. Broad Street and Texas Blvd in downtown Texarkana, Texas, quickly moves into Arkansas, crosses back into Texas, and finishes in Texarkana, Arkansas. The course includes 10-ft wide asphalt trails that wind through residential neighborhoods on city streets. The finish line is downtown at 3rd and Wood Streets in front of the Hopkins Ice House about 5 blocks from the start.   A portion of the course is on the Texas/Arkansas State Line. The 2027 course is USATF certified (AR19015WJT). The race includes chip timing, runners, walkers, and 2-person and 4-person relay teams.

Christopher Hixon was a victim of the Majory Stoneman Douglas High School during the tragic events that took place on February 14, 2018. He was gunned down while running towards the shooter in order to stop him from taking more innocent lives and despite his wounds continued to stand guard, until police arrived, after the shooter had departed in case he returned.
