UPDATE: OUR 2026 RACE IS SOLD OUT! Our 140-runner entrant limit was reached on Tuesday 13 October! Come on out to Warren County, Virginia (an hour west of the DC metropolitan area) for the Shenandoah Valley's most scenic road race! The 28th running of the Greasy-Gooney 10K, hosted by the Shenandoah Valley Runners, will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Browntown, about eight miles south of Front Royal. Held at the peak of the fall foliage season, our somewhat challenging 6.2 mile road course loops through the foothills of the Blue Ridge, treating runners to gorgeous views of the mountains and countryside. We'll have awards for the top three overall and for the top three in mostly five-year age groups. Entry fees are $30 early or $40 race day with our race premium (a black running cap with the race logo embroidered in orange) or $24 early/$34 race day without the premium, plus we offer a $2 discount to members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners running club. Bullets Battle For Her is an organization at Gettysburg College that is focused on raising awareness for women and families that are affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Through the sale of shirts, participants running in the event, and other fundraising opportunities, Bullets Battle For Her will be donating all profits to Unite For Her. Unite For Her is a non-profit that supports women and families that are affected by breast cancer. Unite For Her has been instrumental in my Mom's battle with cancer and so many other women's battles.

Help us represent the Conway Running Club at our aid station for the City of Colleges Half Marathon (and 10K) the morning of Saturday, October 24, 2026. We are at about mile 2.5 of the race, at the corner of South German and Favre Lanes. (The 10K turns onto Favre while the Half will continue on S. German.) We will be there from about 6:30 am (setup time) and we're packed up and gone by 8:30 am. The half starts at 7am, the 10K starts at 7:15. We will see runners from the half starting about 7:15, and from the 10K starting about 10-15 minutes after that, so, we're very busy until about 8 am, but we're packed up and gone by 8:30.

One in eight women in the United States will have breast cancer in their lifetime. Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been affected by this disease. When detected early, breast cancer survival rates are very high, but not every woman has access to important mammogram screening services. Proceeds from Rides & Strides will ensure that those who are underinsured, uninsured and medically underserved receive the screening services they need on an annual basis.

Come support America's Heroes and test yourself with the Step Up for America's Heroes Stair Challenge! Climb 2,200 steps to complete the ultimate stair climb challenge. Why 2,200 stairs? Because that is how many stairs it was to the top of the World Trade Center when firefighters, law enforcement, military personnel, and civilians unselfishly and willingly climbed the stairs to save others during the September 11th terrorist attacks. Climb the stairs to honor, remember, and commemorate these brave heroes and their sacrifices, both, during the attack and after the attack when American military personnel were sent to fight in the Middle East during the Global War on Terrorism. This event will be happening at Community Memorial Stadium at Mt. Pleasant High School. There will be doughnuts and beverages for participants. If you would rather not climb all 2,200 stairs but still want to participate, that is totally fine, climb as many as you are comfortable with. Not a stair climber? We also have the track around the football field you may walk or run around. This event is free but we do ask that you make a donation toward the Disabled American Veterans organization. Each Saturday morning of the Milligan University annual Homecoming festivities, Associated Ladies for Milligan (ALM) hosts a 5k run/2.5K walk. This event continues to grow in popularity and welcomes alumni and their families, current students and the surrounding community.
