You are not running against a clock — you’re running from brain-hungry, virus-spreading, bloody zombies. BASIC SURVIVAL Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health. The zombies want to take your flags. WHAT YOU’RE UP AGAINST There will be zombies. Their job is to chase you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags. Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT. If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”. HOW YOU’LL DO IT There will be a start line, and a finish line, and the opportunity to avoid Zombies in between.

The 12th Annual Park to Port Bike Ride Get a bike’s-eye view of the Bayou City with the Park to Port bike ride on Saturday, October 24th! Park to Port is open to riders of all skill levels and is not a race. Whether you are an experienced rider or are riding just for fun, you can go at your own pace on this scenic city journey. The 20-mile round-trip bike ride takes cyclists from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland along the Bayou Greenway trail. Enjoy a turn-around party at Mason Park sponsored by Port Houston, but be sure to save some energy for a well-deserved post-ride party under the Bill Coats Bridge! The rolling start will begin at 8:00 am in Bayou Parkland at 6530 Almeda Road, near the Bill Coats Bridge (see map here) and ends at 9:00 am. This is the last time you can depart. When you get to Mason Park, Port Houston's fun-filled turnaround party will be waiting for you presented by Port Houston. The festivities will continue when you return to Hermann Park with a post-ride party featuring music, food, drinks, and activities with local organizations. The post-ride party wraps up at 11:30 am. Your participation in Park to Port supports Hermann Park Conservancy and its stewardship efforts for one of Houston’s most beloved parks while promoting the ever-growing Bayou Greenway trail system.

Though he put up a valiant fight, he sadly left this world for a better one on November 9, 2018. Our goal with the Super Luke 5K is two-fold. First, we want to remember the sweet little boy we all knew and loved. Secondly, we want to spread awareness and raise funds to help other families fighting this terrible cancer. What you need to know: This will be a $5 entry to ensure everyone has signed a waiver. The Trick-or-Trot Fun Run begins on October 24th at 2:00 pm, with registration open in-person from 1:30 pm until the races begin. Registration is FREE. Bring your friends and family! The race is located at 1170 E. Palmer-Moose Creek Road (Palmer-Moose Dr.), Palmer, AK 99645, behind the building at the Cross Country Trails. A hidden redwood forest lies in the hills just a few miles over the ridge from downtown Oakland. The forest’s peaceful groves give little evidence of the park’s bustling past – in the mid-1800s the area was the scene of extensive logging to supply building materials for the San Francisco Bay Area. The logging era has long since passed, and a stately forest of 150-foot coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) has replaced those cut down. In addition to a great forest of coast redwoods, the park’s 1,830 acres also contain other evergreens, chaparral, and grasslands. Wildlife within the park includes rare species such as the golden eagle and Alameda striped racer. Deer, raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen.

The Boulder Skyline Traverse is an ~18 mile trail route that covers the 5 peaks of Boulder (South Boulder Peak, Bear Peak, Green Mountain, Flagstaff Mountain, and Mt. Sanitas). You'll gain roughly 5,000 ft of vert! This is a challenging intermediate-to-advanced route, best suited for runners with strong endurance and prior trail running experience. Zombies are on the prowl and you need to collect the supplies you need to survive the apocalypse! The course itself is not overly challenging but does have a fairly easy gradual downhill & uphill from the park lakes. The challenge is to get to the supply stations. Run for Robbie is a 5K race held by Tri Sigma at Saint Joseph's University. It benefits the chapters philanthropy, giving to the Robbie Page Memorial Fund to help fund "therapeutic play" for pediatric patients with illness.

SHOW UP HUNGRY! 👻 Get ready for the first-ever Electric City Food Truck Festival and Halloween Fun Run, presented by Edifice Construction—a brand-new City of Anderson Halloween tradition that’s all about costumes, community, food and FUN! This event celebrates the opening of the new community trail with a one-mile Halloween Fun Run for participants of all ages. The festivities kick off at the Anderson Recreation Center, where runners and walkers will gather before a special ribbon cutting officially opens the trail and sends participants on their way to Linley Park and the Electric City Food Truck Festival, hosted by 110 North Kitchen + Commissary. And when we say FUN Run, we mean it! There’s no timing, no pressure and no need to chase a PR. Run it, walk it, bring the kids, push the stroller, dress up and enjoy the mile. Of course, there is one little incentive to pick up the pace—the first to arrive gets first in line for the food trucks! Once you cross the finish line, the fun is just getting started! Stick around for local food trucks, live music, kids’ activities and plenty of Halloween fun at Linley Park.
