Mikey's Annual Walk-Or-Roll-A-Thon

Easton, MD
March is National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month.  As you know, our son Michael has CP and requires a lot of equipment to do day to day activities.  Cerebral Palsy is the most common motor disability in children, in fact, about 1 in 345 children has been identified with CP.  Motor impairment severity differs from kid to kid, however: the cost for adaptive equipment is expensive yet necessary for them to gain their independence. Unfortunately, not every family can afford the equipment and insurance doesn't always deem things "medically necessary."  We want to help raise awareness, encourage inclusion AND help raise money for those with Cerebral Palsy (and any other motor disability) who need help paying for life-changing equipment ranging from wheelchairs, gait trainers, educational tools to bath chairs. With your participation and donations from past five year’s event, we have donated thousands of dollars to https://www.equipforchildren.org/.This is an organization in Maryl

Hearoes Spring 2026 Fundraiser

Gainesville, FL
Hearoes for Hearing is a student-led non-profit whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for patients in the UF Health Cochlear Implant Program. Hearoes is the philanthropy of the University of Florida's National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), engaging students and the greater Gainesville community to support hearing health initiatives.    A cochlear implant is a device that provides direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the inner ear. Children and adults with a severe to profound hearing loss who do not benefit from hearing aids may be better candidates for cochlear implants. Costs of evaluations, hospital bills, implantation, the device, and programming can run up to $100,000, highlighting the importance of organizations like Hearoes for Hearing to support families with such expenses.   This spring, we are organizing a virtual fundraiser to assist with these costs.
